Who's going to be at the Toyota Center on 9/13/03?

i got 8 tix i dragged my whole family

 

to those that went and got the tix, did you get the hard sell? surely they didn't let you walk in, grab your tix, and just leave, without trying to guilt trip you into at least taking a look at a Prius?

 

Nope, no hassle at all. I guess its cause I drive a Toyota already I just walked in staight to the receptionist and got 4 tixs no problem.

 

I went to the Ron Carter Toyota in Alvin and asked for 4 tickets. They gave me a small stack of 13 and said they has plenty.

 

awesome. i'll have to find time to pick up a stack of tix from sterlingmccall. i reckon i'll be bringin me a posse. yeehaw.

 

Peeps from around here should all go wearing red or something, that way we can get an accurate assessment of the ClutchCity influence on Rox events.

Or at least have some sort of mating call or something.

Man I work like 3-4 blocks away in 4 Houston Center, across from the 4 seasons. We watched suites going into the place around 10:30 and news trucks outside. A buddy and I were going to walk over there but we weren't sure if we could get in? It was an invite only type thing right?

All of the surface lots around the arena will be available, and we may have some parking in the garage as well. We've talked to the operators of the lots in the area, and they're all ready.

You'll also be allowed to walk around on your own as much as you want. Walkthroughs in the "back of house" areas (like the locker room) will be much more supervised, though. (Read: lots of Rockets staff there.)

We'll have different entertainment things going on throughout the day. The purpose of the entertainment is really background, though -- we just want to arena to feel alive. We'll have a half-stage, half-court setup. A couple of bands will play sets, including Flaco. We may do some kids clinics on the court. Calvin will be out there shaking hands and kissing babies. Coach Van Gundy is going to try to make an appearance. We should be able to put out a schedule of the entertainment early next week; if the papers don't run it, I'll just post it up here.

Oh, and there's plenty of tickets -- we've given a ton of them out so far and plan on giving out a ton more. There shouldn't be any chance that you'll go to a dealer and not get tickets.

I'll be there for at least the first several hours (our staff is splitting it up into two shifts), answering questions, showing people around ... all the fun stuff. Hope to see everyone out there.

Tim, is the ball park going to be open on the same day?

 

Ummm ... the Astros host the Cardinals at 7:05 p.m.

I am able to bring forth this arcane knowledge because I know how to look the Astros schedule up on my computer.

Not the Astros ball park man, I meant the "ball park" across the street from the Toyota Center, I forgot the name of it.

If I remember correctly, the park he's referring to is Root Memorial Square Park. That's a public park, isn't it? So why wouldn't it be open? More importantly, why would anyone here care? Isn't it still a homeless hang out for now, until it's renovated?

 

Is there going to be another open house date, or is this going to be the only one?

 

Edit: My bad, I thoght they are already finished with the renovating.

 

They are not renovating they are building and the building is almost complete .Next will be the Park across the street.

 

Hey Tim is the new parking lot for suites and lower prom seating going to be the same parking as for the media and players friend and family and Rockets employees or is there going to be a new seperate mdeia lot.
