Capela is not coming up at all. He has scored for the opposite team. The only thing he has shown is shot blocking ability. It's going to take him a long time to contribute. D-Mo is a interesting project. We need him. If Jones is offered in a trade, then the Pelicans pick, the NY 2nd rounder and K-Pap or Canaan will probably be offered too. I don't think that will be enough to get Bledsoe or Goran unfortunately.
I feel like blocks be a deceiving defensive stat. As far as defensive position I think DMo is just better. Either way I think both players would be productive. I just think Dmo has a skillset that will get you points more consistently than Jones. And on this team, that's a must to help James. As far as the comment on Jones's trade value. I feel the timing of his return with a couple of decent games under his belt will bring that back to where it should be. I doubt very much that his value has plummeted that low.
There are some players now available for NBA teams to sign since the China CBA season ended. Of course most of them are just bench warmers but I will say if Morey can not find a trade before the deadline, I will not be surprised to see the Rockets to cut Shved and just use that spot to sign a new body. He is just not getting any minutes and probably now even ranked behind Canaan.
If we are getting a replacement starting PG, he will have to be able to shoot 3's. For that reason, we do not want Jackson who is a very bad three point shooter.
Goran is the most obvious choice for both the Rockets and Suns. I just don't believe that the Suns would wait to be out of the playoffs before entertaining a Dragic trade. The Suns are going to lose Dragic after this year. They have an extremely unbalanced roster. They have peaked at #8 in the West and should not expect to get any higher nor win a playoff series. By trading Dragic, they can obtain much needed frontcourt help without losing much offense by increasing minutes for Isaiah Thomas. Obtaining an effective big many would help any defensive deficiency caused by that move. Much like a Rockets team with Asik and Howard, they have too much money tied up in one position. That money could be used more wisely by improving another position. The Suns have already set themselves up for Dragic's departure in the backcourt, but they could actually improve the team this year if they used him to obtain a big man. Dragic makes the most sense for the Rockets because I still believe that they do not want to add contracts running beyond this year. Otherwise, I would gladly accept either Bledsoe or Thomas in a Suns trade. The Rockets may need to get another team involved because trading Schved and/or Terry does nothing to help the Suns this year. The problem for the Rockets is that with Howard out, I don’t know if the Rockets give up a player off their roster that would help the Suns now. I also think they will use Shved to match salaries, and I don’t believe he can be traded until the deadline, so I don’texpect anything before then. The most surprising thing to me would be if the Rockets and Suns were not involved in a deadline trade. So, the question I would ask is, “What team would be willing to give a frontcourt player that would help the Suns in exchange for a Rockets package to include the NOP pick+Shved+KPap or any other filler?”
Chicago has available bigs (Taj) and Denver. Boston also have some but none that would satisfy Suns. The problem is that NOP pick and the filler that you propose does not land a good enough big to forward to the Suns for Dragic. For IT on the other hand...
Al Jefferson is the only good big that package can land right now and while value wise he would be good his slow half court offence is a horrible match for the Suns.
That Dragic is an expiring contract is why I think it would be enough (and the reason the Bulls wouldn't just do a Taj for Dragic trade straight up). Not only would the Rockets be willing to rent Dragic (albeit with the option to re-sign him if they want), I think they actually want to. That's just the way I'm looking at it.
Lol, he is our main target. From earlier reports and information I've heard. I'm Not saying pheonix will cooperate with us but it may involve a third team.
Yeah, I'm a little surprised at how little play Shved has gotten so far. I thought Morey was pretty high on this guy.
When he did get minutes he seemed to play well. Idk what's going on with this guy. I say trade him he must be really inconsistent or something.
