LOL I find it amusing you think that sort of behavior is exclusive to the left. As one of the few true members here of the "none of the above" party, I see very little want for *honest* discussion from either side....but that is party politics for ya. Disclaimer: there are a *few* dems and repubs here that are civil to each other...but very few.
I don't understand party support at all. I seriously doubt over 15% of the population agrees totally with one party.
That's why I said "one side or the other." I enjoy discussion and robust reparte. However, when a poster puts his argument is such a way as "does your father still steal?" -- i.e. there is no way to answer without proving a bogus point -- I respond with a more pointed retort than usual.
So the same people you saw on CNN, Fox and MSNBC also thought Bush as the Joker was funny and apropos? Or just Philip Kennicott? I already mentioned that I know some people who were offended by Obama as the Joker, but you said "so many" of those people not only exist, but also think Bush as the joker is ok. By the way, I'm not sure what you mean by "grasp at straws". There is no larger point to my post, so I don't know what you think I'm grasping at straws to prove. My only point is for you to clarify your allegation. Either you were being honest and serious and should be able to remember some instances of people that you base your assertion on, or you were exaggerating or conflating two separate groups of people. My instinct says it is the latter, which is why I ask for clarification. It is easy to see one person who ascribes to liberal viewpoints that laughs at Bush as the Joker, and another who is offended by Obama as the Joker, then put the two together, multiply by a hundred, and come up with many who do both. I just haven't seen many who have done either.
This guy is a joke the racial claims are not towards those who are critical but those who out themselves with the claims of wanting their country back. We see this repeatedly at town hall meeting with this quote. What do these older white Americans from these rural mean when they make this quote? Who do they want to take America from?
You don't get debate unless there are at least two viewpoints. In this case some think the joker issue to be inane, some think it racial, some think it hypocritical, some think it humorous, etc. etc. I find it hypocritical because of the flip flops on both sides depending on whose ox was gored. BTW, when I'm being flippant, I generally put in a wink or a smile for those who are absolute literalists.
Ran across this article that relates to the topic before heading to work. THIS IS INSANITY!!! You are telling me Socialist is the new "CODE WORD" for the N-word.. OMG!! You can't be serious!!
More manufactured "controversy." Nobody cares about the posters. They just aren't very clever. And when was Bush ever called the Joker? I never saw that, and it's just as inane as saying Obama has anything to do with the joker. I would say Bush was more like Scarecrow and Obama Magneto, but I digress.
I would give guys like this more credence if they had been saying the same thing about those who accused critics of the past Admin as being traitors. Its almost funny how the right has rediscovered the value of free speech once they are out of power.
I honestly don't know what this means. I'm just going to stick with my assumption that you're seeing hypocrisy where none (or at least very little) exists.
Foas, you are allowed to make one substantive post in this forum, and I pledge not to rip it apart. It must be several paragraphs. It must not be copied from another source. I will award you positive rep points if you do. You may even start your own thread. This offer stands for 48 hours, starting now.
That's just ridiculous. There's no comparison in what Bush and Cheney did over 8 years with what Obama's done in 7 months. Get a grip.
Looks like somebody had another bad night out on the town. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OVs6xfZJI0k&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OVs6xfZJI0k&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Why is it that most existing Spectreman youtube vids are dubbed into Portuguesa? It seems to be the work of some evil genius to deny the anglophone world its brilliance.
It happened, anything you can think of is done by the internet. The difference being that Bush as the Joker were just photoshops by random people and not some strategically plastered posters in the "real" world as part of some lame astroturfing.
