Lakers. I hate all three teams, but the way I see it, if the Jazz/Mavs don't make it, they at least get a higher pick. The Lakers don't. So the best is if Utah or Dallas makes it and they get stomped in four straight games.
It is starting to look like this will be so close, that it will be decided in the last game. It will be interesting if the Rockets get to this game locked at their playoff position and with no incentive to win the game other than eliminating the Lakers. In my opinion, that would be more important than any other playoff game we will play this year (since we are not going to win it all). Actually, I am rooting for that to happen and see what this team is really made out of.
Lakers. Though, out of all of the teams that do not deserve to be in the playoffs, it has to be the Jazz (IMO). Kobe and Dirk both have been playing like it's their last chance to get into the playoffs. I respect that.
Response Lakers because they can't win with all that money. That's a disgrace. Compared to that, Houston, with relatively low total combined salaries, are doing very well.
f the mavs. surprised people aren't on that train anymore. Sure, they're all evils. But I'm ok seeing the Lakers with Nash and old man Kobe. They'll just get dumb Lakers fans' hopes up and then give them even more disappointment with a quick exit. Jazz would also lose quickly. Who cares. Mavs might find a way to make a run. Don't want to see them have success
if anyone "deserved" to make it I think it would be the mavs. they look like the team that has fought the hardest for it over the course of the season, vs Jazz who collapsed and Lakers who could barely hold on to get there in the first place. one more reason my order would be Lakers, Jazz, Mavs is the order in which these teams have knocked us out of the playoffs in the past (09, 07-08, 05) and the bitter taste in my mouth that was left
Utah will miss the playoffs 100%. Lakers will make the playoffs 200% Dallas will miss too. It's about keeping NBA fans happy. There are a lot of Lakers fans (many of them celebs) that know what it means to make the playoffs now. Lakers fans have wasted a lot of money betting on Kobe all season, and soon they will watch their team in a good series against the Spurs.
Damn, durv...came in here to post this but saw you had it covered from reply #1. Awesome. I'd like to add that even though I'd like Dwight to come here, priority #1 for me is for him to leave LA. That way they can't reload with him as the anchor once Kobe finally retires - they might finally have to rebuild like everybody else.
The Lakers by far. Reasons: 1. They are the Lakers. 2. They are the Lakers. (Okay, I REALLY hate them.) 3. The hype before the season is just unbearable. 4. The Lakers from top to bottom (owner, FO, coaches, players, fans, etc.) are a bunch of entitled snobs. 5. Among the three teams, the Lakers have the most potential to make serious noise in the playoffs. You want to eliminate the threat. 6. They deserve to fail because they self destruct. 7. It would calm down the conspiracy theorists. 8. Dwight may leave if they fail. Even if he doesn't come to Houston, it's still good to leave the Lakers with a bleak future. 9. Did I mention that I hate the Lakers and love to see them fail?
