if we can, all we need to do is trade yao for a badass free throw coach and we'll be fine.

    Such a silly Poll!
Don't you have anything better to do?
Considering Yao Ming is untradable- He is worth his weigh in Diamonds to an NBA Owner. :p

If he's healthy, no one. If he's chronically injured, it won't matter, because no team wants a brittle player with a max contract. As to whether Yao is brittle, we'll have a better idea by next Summer.

The title of your thread is "Who would you trade Yao for?".

There is a poll with a list of players and you ask us if we would consider trading Yao for any of the players on that list.

Then, the first sentence of your post says "This is not a trade Yao thread."

You may not be saying we should trade Yao, but this would certainly fall under the category of a "trade Yao" thread.

what good is a big man that doesn't even play in the post season, gets injured a lot, takes up all the cap room? since we are judging yao solely on court performance, i'd say trade him for anybody on the list except dirk- cuz he sucks too. heck, i wouldn't mind trading yao for dampier cuz dampier actually plays in the post season.

Big Z had the same problems with his feet. Once he had the surgical steel implants in his bone..well guess what. A miracle. No more feet problem.

it isn't like tmac is 1-9 like kobe

we're not going to trade tmac/yao. they will stay here until they retire.

No I simply wanted to see how highly people valued Yao. None of these trades will happen.

I would trade him for Deshawn Stevenson.................

But no really...........Why give up the best center........Thats the main peice to a team.........Then you build around it.........Chris Paul will never win **** with Tyson Chandler..........But if there was some how we could get CP3 and Yao.............That would be a dream........

    Not saying anything Tmac..............

if both of our stars don't stay healthy for at least 70 games next yr (to help us get that #1 seed b/c that's our best way of advancing), we need to start rebuilding.

health is our biggest concern and it sucks b/c both are freakin' in the late 20s.

Fa sho!.....I aint gonna lie, I hate Alston but I would defend Yao & Tracy in any argument at work or with friends etc....but if Yao gets a season ending injury next year, and Tmac continues getting hurt and pulling bs, I would say rebuild also....I am a Rockets fan first, then I am a Yao & tmac fan, whatever is best for the team.....but I am tired of telling people who talk down on the rockets "Wait till next Year," and then when next year comes, then I repeat it again "Wait till next year"

Personally I would take Dwight Howard over any player in the NBA for the long run. Simply because of his youth and athleticism, the fact that he goes after every rebound and is a beast on the defensive end.

What impresses me the most is that he is capable of putting up huge numbers without having the ball in his hand, which allow a lot of flexibility in who you put around him. For example while watching the Magic playing Toronto (granted it is toronto) he was able to put up 25 points despite the fact that I rarely saw any plays specifically ran for him, and all his points came from put backs/ open dunks ect.

Where as Yao, as dominant as he is when healthy (something that I won't get into), needs a specific staff around him for him to be effective. Such as great 3pt shooters to spread the floor, and 1 or 2 more efficient scorers to stop double teams and fronting.

Personally I consider this type of trade Yao, trade Tmac threads counterproductive, I do dislike some of the posters here refusal to admit that this team could be better if we had other players instead of tmac (and/or) Yao.

Like "count-du-ku" said, I am willing to give this team one more season so that I may see the full effectiveness of Yao/TMAC and co under Rick Adleman. But if we don't we don't get past the first round again next year (assuming we won't again this season, but I am hoping that this is a bad assumption :) ) or Yao/TMAC go down for majority of the season or post season again, I would advocate this team going in a different direction.

Are we moron like those mormons that we play we do not have even to mention any trade during this time. That what the Houston fans are. Houston Chronicle talked about the Rockets was not the same team that won the 55 games or 22 games on the road and I replied these are not the same fans on the 22 games either. Houston fans will jump on the band wagon when the Rockets is on the streak but as soon as the streak end they started jumping off the band wagon or talking baout trade. This series is on us not on Rockets. We as a fan did not show enthusiasm or heart.

While I am still not sure if I would trade Yao for any of those players, I don't think its as easy as just looking at mismatches.

Based on the mismatch theory, Yao should have obliterated Okur in playoffs last year. If anything, last year's playoffs showed that we cannot just assume that Yao will dominate competition based on mismatch alone.

Also, quiet frankly, the selfless thing bothers me too. I think it would benefit Yao more if he was more selfish and willing to dominate competition given the advantage he usually has.
