swiftrocket: you seem to be filled with a lot of hate towards walt. it's not really justifiable. first of all you said that when he came out of college he was supposed to be an impact player. and he was. he came out and started to average like 16 points. of course he was on sacramento. and they were no good to begin with. he might not be the best player or anything, but he is definitly not worthless. i don't even think that he is that overpaid. a lot of much worse players are getting paid a lot more. and as for shandon, he's going to get his payday in about a year. a very, very lucrative payday. the reason walt has been on so many teams is because he was wanted by them. when teams were making deals, he was always that player that the deal hitched on. just like the pippen deal. he was more or less the reason we made the deal. he does a lot for this team, that many other sf couldn't do. he starts out the game as a threat to score about 11 points in the first quarter. he might not be our finisher, but he is definitly very valuable. he is a veteran who knows the tricks and can teach the rookies, especially langhi, how to play to their full potential. and finally in an offense like the one we have, it is very good to have a player that can create his own shot, get a shot of screens, and be a spot up shooter (all in the same player). he's like glen rice. he almost is glen rice. with better handles. he is very integral part of the offensive system, and trading him for a bag of potatos is definitly not going to help the team. ------------------ "When the mind is thinking, it is talking to itself." .... Loafinator, You're tellin me walt can create his own shot. YEAH IN YOUR DREAMS. Walt has to live off other people dishin to him for threes. ------------------
i don't mean to be rude, but did you ever watch a houston game in which walt played? he does so many different things on offense that it's a crime to call him just a spot up shooter. his only weakness is on the defensive side, but even that doesn't warrant him to be traded for absolutely nothing in return. if we got a good deal, then almost anybody is tradeable, but i don't think we should be putting walt on the table, just because you don't watch games. ------------------ "When the mind is thinking, it is talking to itself." .... Personally, I'd trade Walt Williams for all of the following people, or a combination of any of the players below... But unfortunately, I'm not the one pulling the trigger... Shaq Tim Duncan Grant Hill Kevin Garnett Rasheed Wallace Allen Iverson Kobe Bryant Jason Kidd Karl Malone Gary Payton Chris Webber Alonzo Mourning Allen Houston Eddie Jones eh...you get the idea ------------------ WEBMASTER of SaveOurCuttino.Com "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
