CP3 is the better player no doubt but I'd go for Melo. Well I should say it depends on what the Rockets would have to give up. If Brooks is included then I would have to choose CP3. I really dont like CP3, I dont care for his flopping, whining, nor his Kobe-like demeanor but I recognize how his talent really impacts the game, I wonder who Morey would choose given the choice. I really liked what I saw out of Melo in the playoffs, you could tell he really tried to step up for his team, I think he is turning into a real leader. Trade anyone for DWill
Not sure why anyone would trade for Chris Paul right now, when Melo is the better fit for our team. If we didn't have Aaron Brooks running the point, I would probably change my tune, and say Paul would be the preferred choice. But right now, we JUST traded our starting SF for a backup SG + stuff. Our two PGs are more than capable at their position, so right now, we need a SF more than we need a PG.
You aren't going anywhere if your point guard is highest scorer unless you have PG is Magic or Zeke and you have a totally stacked team. CP3 maybe a better player but he will never win a championship being the best player on the team.
Would you rather listen to Justin Beiber sing for 72 straight hours, or stick your d**k in a pool full of starving pirhanas?
I'm new to ClutchFans and can't figure out how to search the board, so sorry if this has been already posted. Here's Bill Simmons' take on CP3 and Melo in his trade value column written back in February. He ranks Carmelo #6 and Chris Paul #7 (He put Paul at #10 in April.)
If that's legit about Paul's knee, then I just changed my mind. Anthony all the way. I want no part of a player who's going to have "issues" with his health going forward that we're aware of prior to acquiring him. We've had (and have) enough trouble with the health of our players to last another decade. If that's bogus about the extent of the knee injury, then I'd rather have Paul, who I consider the better player of the two.
Agreed. Paul was the 2nd best player in the league 2007-2009. He lead an otherwise mediocre Hornets team to 56 wins in 2007-2008. In 2008-2009 he averaged 22.8 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 11.0 apg & 2.8 steals while shooting over 50%. It seems most people have forgotten this pretty quickly.
