I would rather get the player who raises the chances of getting the other player here.

If signing Melo first would eventually lead CP3 here, then by all means, git'r dunn.

The Hornets aren't gonna trade CP3...They just got rid of Collison to reassure Paul.

He's going to be playing the 3 spot now with Evan Turner playing the 2 spot.

    Holiday
    Turner
    Iguodola
    Brand, or Young
    Speights

They got a nice young starting lineup.

I consider a healthy Chris Paul one of the 5 best players in the NBA. Melo?...not so much.

For me, it's not so much about who is the better talent, but rather who best improves the team?

Adding Carmelo Anthony improves THIS team much more than adding CP3.

I don't necessarily think this is true. A Brooks/Martin/Melo/Scola group is horrible defensively. I don't know if you can win with a team which plays that bad of defense. Melo is a big upgrade offensively, but a big downgrade defensively.

Much as I love Brooks, CP3 is an upgrade both on offense and especially on defense.

IMO having a great PG is not gonna win u a championship, we have seen alot teams in the past with an average PG on their team win a chamiponships, you need that SG or the SF who can carry his team on his back and can go to during crunch time, so I'll go with Melo.

Get both. If we get Melo, then Houston will be on CP3 list of teams for a trade when he bails on the Hornets. If NY gets Melo, then CP3 will ask for a trade there.

    Agreed, but...
Do you really think CP3 is that big a difference maker defensively?
Think of the competition we would face in the western conference...a wing stopper would be much more important to our defensive concerns.
That, of course, is not to say that Melo is a stopper by any means, but certainly his offense will provide a more than adequate counterbalance.

In my eyes adding CP3 makes us better, but adding Melo makes us a bona fide contender.

Chris Paul is a difference maker from the point position. Look up his defense, defensive awards and steals.

You're right about needing a wing stopper, but if you want to look at offense countering offense, CP can score 20-25 pts and also give you 10-15 assists.

CP is a better player, but don't mistake me I want Carmello. Right now we are experiencing carmello fever (and rightly so in a way) so he is winning this poll. But in older polls and when we had stronger Chris Paul fever CP won the polls.

I would take either one, and our GM is so good at trades and drafting we could easily build a great team around either one to contend I think (we also have a coach who has proven he can take players to the finals).

CP would probably want to come here if Carmello joins. Until I see the NY, NJ, Hornets, or Denver front office and GMs make moves as good as Morey, I think both those guys would be better served if they want to win a championship to play for us. I think if you can make it and stay on a Morey team (a superstar), he will put the talent you need around you to contend for a championship IMO.

Pretty much this. As good as cp3 is, I am pretty content with brooks and lowry. SF is the bigger need

Clearly? I honestly think its quite debatable... I mean i rekon Melo has had his fair share of clutch moments, and i really respect his scoring ability, i defo take Melo over CP3 in terms of the Rockets anyways
