If I even remotely liked Neil Young, I'd pick him because that would make me seem much cooler than I really am. As it is, his voice and guitar playing annoy the living balls out of me, so I'll go with Neil Diamond.
i didn't gush...i laughed at myself for going! But Sweet Caroline was freaking awesome...and no true Red Sox fan would say anything bad about Neil freaking Diamond!
neil albums i own: neil young: 1969 Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere 1970 After the Gold Rush 1972 Harvest 1973 Time Fades Away 1974 On the Beach 1975 Tonight's the Night 1975 Zuma 1977 American Stars 1977 Decade 1979 Rust Never Sleeps 1979 Live Rust 1992 Harvest Moon 1995 Mirror Ball 1996 Dead Man 2003 Greendale neil diamond: 1977 Love At The Greek neil sedaka: not a damn thing hmmmmmm...
that depends on whether the concert was on a "Hot August Night." never saw ND, but i loved that album growing up. and i don't care how many times sedeka is back, just can't go there. Caught NY as part of a 4 hour CSNY show at the Liberty bowl in 1974- pretty freakin' amazing...
I've seen both Diamond and Young live. Young sounds great but is very low key with the audience and his songs can go on and on up to 10 minutes with extended jamming. Diamond is a showman- plays the hits, keeps the audience interested all night, lots of interaction, crowd participation, etc. Depends on what you want from a concert, but I'd rather see Neil Diamond.
