It bothers me too much, that Lebron is basically a point guard. It might seem that Durant got better team, but that's because he makes his teammates better more than Lebron...Durant is terrific off-ball player, doesn't need ball to be effective, create a lot space with just standing on three point line. Lebron on the other hand, can create wide open shots for his teammates, but space for slashers like Wade? No, that's why Westbrook and Harden had best season of their careers and Wade&Bosh one of the worst. It's not because Westbrook and Harden are better, but because Durant allowed them to be better with his style of play.

Durant has the talent and is becoming a worker on defense. also, He is not douchie so you don't have to fear him double teaming his buddy on another team.
lebron isn't anything the league has never seen before. even karla malone was averaging lebron numbers when he was in his mid 30s and that was in a man's Nba not the diva association it is now.

all that said, no mortal like lebron or durant can carry a team by himself. you'd have to be a god to accomplish that...like the dream. =)

LeBron, he plays better defense. Durant is an Allstar, Lebron is Allworld

I'll take Lebron as the #1 pick. Then I'll trade everything else to get Durant as my #2 pick.

Durant averaged more turnovers than assists during the reg. season. It's best if he allowed WB/Harden to handle the ball.

Don't matter they both need a big2 to help them win. LeBron more so.

OKC's offense changed this year to where KD ran the point much more often and he isolated more frequently. Over last summer, he tightened his handles quite a bit. The result was more TOs and assists while he gained confidence.

I don't mind that especially, if you take into consideration that those were not selfish turnovers, but mostly when he tried to create something for his teammates and maybe they didn't catch the ball/react best.

I do mind however, if you are supposed to be MVP, and you are perimeter player who can't shot FT over 80%. There was only one other perimeter MVP who shot FT under 80% and he won MVP only once(Dr. J). It's even more disturbing when you know this:
LeBron James is 10-17 (59%) from FT line in final minute (4th quarter or OT) of 1-possession games this year; rest of Heat are 13-15 (87%).

The answer is simple: Durant. LeBron will leave your team in seven years.

    Lebron.

I would still take Dwight over Durant if everyone was healthy.

    Exactly.

That's the whole point of the question. Obviously Lebron is a better individual player. But can he do what Durant has been doing for OKC?

I think a big factor coming in can be "Who would you want to lead your team going into the post-season"?

I'm a big fan of Lebron, but i'd pick Durant.

    He leads by example.

As mentioned earlier, I would rather build around a dominant big man but out of the two Durant because he is younger.

While I see your point on KD it would behoove me to remind you that Westbrook and Harden are both top 5 overall picks while LeBron took a scrub filled team to the Finals with the Cavaliers. It's hard to give a guy props for bringing out value in top overall picks when you have someone doing the same with reserves and 2nd round talent.

On East. I don't believe Lebron would have final appearance, if he played on west.

I am not sure that makes much sense

    So Lebron+a bunch of scrubs=finals
    Lebron + 2 top flight super stars=finals
both losses. Better supporting cast, same result, but even worst regular season percentage both times with Heat than he had with the Cavs. So maybe this whole comparing supporting cast isn't as easy or simple as ppl try to make it to be

I love Durant's game. However, to me this isnt that close. I would take Lebron in a heartbeat. They are just about equal when it comes to scoring. Lebron is far better than KD iin 2 other areas of the game...he is a far greater defender and has far greater court vision. Lebron, on most nights, could guard the other teams best player regardless of what position that player plays. KD(or anyone else)just does not have the combination of strength and quickness to do this. Personally i believe whenever Lebron takes the court, i am watching the most physically gifted athlete of all time.
