This is quite possibly the worst trade proposal I have ever read (from the Rockets' perspective).

Fact is Rubio is a gamble at this point. Yeah his ability to create is Genius level, however he doesn't seem to have the athletic ability AND the shooting touch to hang with the big boys. Frankly, Steve Nash without the shooting touch doesn't sound that good to me, I'm not sure he'll be better than our own Aaron Brooks overall.

A motivated and hungry Chris Paul is top 3, maybe even top 2 in the league, after Lebron and Dwight Howard (yeah you heard me, Kobe will be 32 and Wade will be 30 next season). The age is irrelevant, CP3 is only 25 years old and while Rubio is much younger, you're on crack if you think he's gonna dominate at age 18. Do you want to wait 3 years to let Rubio mature? Or do you want to compete now while we still have Yao, Battier, Scola and KM?

CP3 is the only logical choice.

Why the hell would we want Nash and Hill? Nash has like 2 years left before he calls it a career, and HIll might retire as early as next season. LOL we just got out from under the lottery and you want us to have a 2 year window?

It's better than the supposed CP3 and Okafor deal going out there. CP3 and Nash both have similar contracts but CP3 has a higher chance of bolting after his contract. Nash and CP3 both give you the same production but Nash has better court vision and has a higher field goal precentage and he doesn't seem to wear down. Also you don't have to take on a bloated contract like Okafor's along with Nash. Hill still has some good basketball left in his tank and his career is not over yet. Also with the whole 2 year window, sadly with Yao's current situation, we do have a small window of time to win a Championship. After this season, who knows what happens with Yao? It looks like we are going all in this year and this will only add to that.

Franchise player vs unknown. Another meaningless poll.
I can't wait for the season to start so there are some
    real topics to discuss.

Nash and Hill are a combined 218 years old, Grant Hill might well call it quits after this season.

And you want to give them Brooks, Battier, Hill, Budinger AND as a "sweetener" a first-round draft pick AND cash.

And then you ask me if I can elaborate? I mean...seriously, dude?

You are like the anti-Morey. And I think Morey is a very, very smart man.

Those are rare cases. Hey and guess what, Rubio is 19.

That's why it's not such a tough decision. This team is built to win now. It's all tied to Yao. How many more good years do you expect him to have? That's the window of opportunity.

I think rubio at best would be a second concern after paul. It's tough for me to think about it, but if yao has a season ending injury this year (the 6th year in a row having a season ending I think?) I think that is it. Either he retires or we trade him. I don't know if I would be opposed to trading him (if he gets a season ending injury this year) and another player to get a potentially good young player like rubio or if morey could pull it off with our assets, a high draft pick.

Rubio looks very good from a potential standpoint. But you have to take proven vs unproven, especially with a guy as good as paul. Really we don't even know if rubio will be any better or close to as good as brooks, it's all speculation. There have been plenty of high potential guys who went high in the draft and were busts.

Really they are both gambles (not sure if I want to, brooks is more likely to be a very good player and stay with us long term), but I say if you do decide to gamble go with a proven star.

I agree CP3 is the better overall player, proven, a veteran who we know is a elite PG. But in every moves there are positives and negatives, and one of the negatives in getting CP3 is how long will he be around? And what will it cost the ROXS? Brooks? And more, much more.

Rubio isn't a proven vet right now but could be if he really is what everyone hypes him up to be. He would cost much less and the ROXS don't have to give up as much to get him. Just imagine your guards being Brooks/Martin and Lowery/Rubio. That's damn good and it still gives the ROXS flexibility.

I'm sure Morey is exploring every option, and running the numbers. In Morey We Trust.

I expected Paul to win this poll since he is proven and he is already playing and if he were available, he could be playing this season instead of waiting a season. Just wanted a feel for how big the margin would be. My guess is Morey would trade for either guy in an instant and the first GM (Kahn or Demps or their successors) that agrees to trade their guy to us, Morey will take the deal, even if it means waiting a whole season and taking the risk on Rubio. I am convinced Morey sees Rubio as I do, a generational player whose worldwide popularity, once he hits in the NBA, will rival Lebron. That's the financial part of it. Yao (China), Rubio (Europe), Scola (South America) combined with a couple American stars (Martin, etc.) And then the oncourt persona, attitude, and skills to match the worldwide appeal.

The kid is going to be special.

Chris Paul. Hell, even Sergio Llull has better stats than Rubio.

Uh, really? Let's look at a list of horrible HOF point guards at the washed up age of 31:

But since it's such a rare case, why don't you give me a counter example? I'm sure there's dozens of first-team all NBA PG's out there who physically evaporated at age 29, like cinderella turning into a pumpkin - can you name even one?

ANd guess what - he's never played a single second in the NBA and you're comparing him to a first-team all-NBA player.

I'm not convinced that Rubio can make an impact in the NBA. Yes, he looks impressive on video, but we've seen other Euro-stars come over and flop (VSpan??). He doesn't seem to be much better than an average shooter, he's not fast so I don't see him blowing by too many NBA guards. He is a great passer, but other than that, I don't see how he's anywhere close to Paul's level. No brainer---PAUL!

Lol, complete joke that anyone would select a player that has never stepped foot on the court over a player that is easily amongst the best the NBA has to offer.

    Its almost laughable.

but seriously. Rubio. much younger, would bring more money to the franchise with international exposure, never liked the attitude Paul has on-court.
