Chris Paul, and its not even close. I'll take an established all star in these league over potential any day.

On a side note, I think Steve Nash coming to Houston mid season, or at the deadline is a realistic possibility. All depends on how good (or bad) the Suns are doing. Now if you say Nash or Paul? I think the obvious choice again is Paul, but Nash might come with a cheaper price tag.

hard for me to pick a guy that has no interest in coming here. not sure rubio wants to come here either, but I bet he would choose us over minnesota.

of course u pick paul based on accomplishments, but I would rather have Rubio.

I am a Rubio fan. Don't think I'm crazy. I think we should deal for Paul if we can get him. For that matter, I think we should deal for Nash if we can get him. However, if all three were available, just based on age, I'd take the gamble on Rubio. I am convinced he is going to be a top 3 point guard in the NBA. And yes, that is a gamble, because he hasn't proven it. But, I would not turn down a Paul or a Nash or a Kobe or a DWade if they were available and could be gotten. At this point, however, Kobe and Wade aren't available and aren't going to be available for the Yao era. Paul possibly. Nash possibly. Rubio possibly. Since I consider that Rubio is going to be a superstar, I'd be willing to take the gamble on him. However, any of them upgrade us to a championship contender status.

this is the dumbest post I have ever read. Rubio's ceiling at it's absolute highest would be where Chris Paul is right now. Chris Paul is either the best or 2nd best pg in the league, behind maybe Deron Williams. Lock this thread up. rubio or chris paul? hahah wow, what a joke

Seriously rubio sucks balls. stop with the rubio nonsense. Aaron brooks would make rubio his little b****. But you are probably the one constantly claiming brooks should be benched. shows you nothing about basketball. Would you rather have Deron Williams or Sergio Rodriguez?

I don't even ever post. I am just so sick of this Ricky Rubio bull****. The guy probably won't come to the states for 5 more years. Stop ever asking about Ricky Rubio. It was a terrible draft pick by the T wolves and until he comes to the NBA he is no better than Moochie Norris. Who would you rather have Derek Rose or Matt Maloney?

The problem is that Paul apparently has been bitten by the glamor bug and wants his own dream team, so there's a legitimate concern about him being a two season rental.

Chauncey Billups or Goran Dragic? Dragic hasn't hit his prime yet. Maybe we should get spanoulis back, since foreign point guards have worked out pretty well. They can't even shoot NBA 3's. How about JJ Barea. Is he better than Brooks you think?

Paul all the way. You can still trade him if he ends up not wanting to resign or it doesn't work out.

If Rubio turns out to be a bust, then that's pretty much all you got. Also I'm pretty sure the asking price for Rubio won't be a couple cheap low end 1st round picks.

I say Rubio because he will be cheaper to get and he is younger

Chris Paul is proven but he will cost to much to get and in 2 years he will leave but if morey wants to take a 2 year rental for a chance on a title im all for it either or im happy chris paul is win now rubio is for the future

I think Rubio is more likely to happen because Kahn is in make deals mood as you have seen this offseason

I posted this in the trade thread but would Phoenix do this deal this off-season?

Brooks + Battier + Hill + maybe Budinger (arm twisting involved) for Nash + Grant Hill?

Sweetners: Either future first round draft picks or rights to Llull and 3 million dollars max cash.

    Nash/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Hill/Ariza
    Scola/Hayes/Patterson
    Yao/Miller/Jeffries

Why Houston does this: We get a perennial all-star and top 5 Point Guard in Nash who gets to the line and shoots at a remarkable efficiency both from the field and free throw line. I think we also will finally have that 2nd all-star paired with Yao. We also get an expiring contract in Hill, who also is a good team defender and great three point threat next to Yao. He shot a remarkable 43% from the three point line last season.

    Dragic/Brooks
    Richardson/ Budinger
    Childress/Battier/Dudley
    Turkoglu/Warrick
    Lopez/Fry/Hill

Why Phoenix does it: It seems as though Dragic has come into his own and I think their management with the new GM have welcomed the idea of handing over the keys to him. They get MIP, Brooks, who is a perfect compliment to Gentry's system. They also get younger and a chance to rebuild and still make the playoffs. They also get Budinger, who they were rumored to go hard after in the draft, who also happens to be a former Arizona Alum. They get an expiring contract in Battier who they can trade at the deadline to a contender for draft picks. Also Hill would be a part of their future frontline paired with Lopez in the future. We can also give them 3 million dollars cash considerations from Landry's trade exception, which a cheap owner like Sarver would salivate over, couple that with a potential lottery pick in 2011.

Nash only works really well in the run and gun type offense or a ton of pick and roll. Look at what happened with him and Shaq. Of course Yao won't be able to keep up in the pace of game Nash likes to run nor be able to pick and roll as effective as a more mobile center would.

Rubio just because of what Paul did this offseason.

I'd rather have a hungry young stud than a spoiled NBA star.

Top 3 player? He isn't even a top 3 pg. Arguably Dwill is better, Rondo, Rose. As far as players, LBJ, Kobe, Wade.

I don't see how we get Paul without giving up Yao, Brooks, and picks. Paul is not available for anything else we can give.

Anything can happen with Kahn. Rubio can become available any day.

Rubio, becauase then you could start both Brooks and Rubio, and cross match on defense.

Is "cross match" a new slang term for "suck really hard"?
