Correct me if I am wrong, but did Philly not go 0-5 to start the season when Iverson was out.

Rudy needs his players to win (Brown did too)

Yes. I was entirely serious. I really thought you wanted Rudy speared. I am still skeptical of your denial.

If I had a choice, I'd choose Doc Rivers, a rookie coach that can get them to play. The 3 guys you listed are veteran coaches that expect a degree of professionalism like that of veteran players. You think Dunleavy would be screaming at Cat if he didnt pass the damn ball? Doc would be screaming even more...

Plus the fact that Doc Rivers's teams play better at a lesser capacity than a full one (G. Hill's injury made McGrady superhuman again...) it's a perfect match for the injury depleted Rockets. He might even make Mo Taylor board in double figures...in 20 years...at the Y...

Why not just pull a Mark Cuban and hire Van Gundy and Dunleavy as assistant coaches?

It was evident Rudy really didn't think the rules would effect him that much judging by the preseason because during that time we ran the same iso and people were clamoring over how many wide open shots Rice would get. I think some of the slower teams were licking their chops because Houston wasn't going to change. As a result, even with Francis we were struggling and excuses were snoballing as why.

The simple fact is Rudy's style and belief in the same thing is what prevented us from improving. Doeas anyone remember what happened in 95 when we were struggling with the same stale offense that we won the ring the yr before with. Rudy was slow to adjust and they had to bring Clyde in because it was too predicatable and teams were just double and triple teaming Hakeem and forcing other avg players to beat them.

Fast Forward to this yr and the same thing is happening, but the Rockets doen't have nearly the same caliber of Hakeem on this team. Rudy hadto get an athelete like clyde to force his hand and tempo which is the same thing that needs to happen ith this team. No , there isn't a player of Clydes stature on the Rockets nor on the market, but Rudy just needs to get his atheletes on the floor and try to create open court chances for the team. Morris,Langhi, Torres and Griffin are all good atheletes and Rudy needs to find a way to utilize their stregnths to help this team. Why not throw Mobley, Torres, Morris or langhi, Griffin, and Cato out there and turn up the heat? I know Mobley is hobbled , so throw Norris out there and when the team gets down, speed the game up.

He is doing one of his worst coaching jobs, but he does have an injured team. Losing isn't so bad, but the effort in which the team is giving to him makes you wonder if they have a knife at the gun fight.
