First you had the Bulls, Lakers, Spurs in a more time, Heat take a bit. Who knows if the warriors can three peat and do it after a few years. The only way you can beat them is this roster... Pau Gasol - Sign Vets Min Lebron James Signs Low Contract Kevin Durant Max James Haren Max Mike Conley Signs Low Contract to win Bench You name it. Shooters Ryan Anderson,Jamal Crawford, Kyle Kover, Bismack Biyabmo, Jermey Lin Might beat them thats how good there chemisty is. They been a team for serveral years, curry and klay since 2011. Team Chemisty learned how to lose together , now how to win together.
Harden and it isn't even close. The most talented passing & scoring SG in the league. He's the key to a championchip
Most of the talented bigs resided in the West. As this was Chicago's Achilles Heel, the path would have been far more difficult.
You act like Vlade Divac, Kevin Duckworth, Mark West, Ervin Johnson, Greg Ostertag, and Greg Foster aren't a murderer's row of big man talent.
Still faced good bigs and front courts in the East too though. Parish/McHale/Bird Shaq/Grant Ewing/Oakley/Mason Laimbeer/Rodman Smits/Davis/Davis ZO/Grandmama Daugherty/Nance Moses/Willis ATL Seikley/Long Mutombo/Laettner Mourning/Brown Kemp/Big Z
Jordan was 6-0 against the West in the finals. Back then, the conferences we're dead even, which made for great basketball. The east also had Patrick Ewing, Shaq, and Alonzo Mourning who were all amazing centers. Didn't really have a problem handling their teams. I could understand your skepticism if the Bulls were 3-3 against the West or something, but it was six mostly non-competitive series. Jordan and the Bulls were simply amazing.
Longevity, being able to fit in any system like a glove, coach-able, great defensive player, solid to great leader, can win in whichever era you put him in(pre three point line, 90s, now), and has very few flaws as a player. Those would be the characteristics for the perfect player to build around. You have to at least get the bulk of those. I cannot choose which player to build around.
I think we could have beaten them in 95, with Clyde. They made it to the big dance six times that decade, we made it twice. We just never met up and it's a shame. But if you're going to discredit MJ by saying he didn't play against any great big men in the East, well that's about as dumb as the haters who say we deserve an asterisk next to our championships. They won six, we won two.
I guess I should have put a smiley face at the end ...about the Rockets owning them...That wasn't my argument, just a fun statement of fact at the time. I love MJ and take nothing away from him. But, as to the original deal here though...the West WAS better and there was more talented size there. The NBA is about matchups and the Bulls would have had a much tougher time out West.
