To beat that Dream team is not that difficult. The front line is pretty weak with Ewing in the middle. Here my team: Oscar Vernon Maxwell (to defend MJ, and irk somebody) KG Duncan Dream (I was thinking about Wilt here, but gotta take Dream) But, here's my all-7-footer Dream Team: PG: Garnett SG: Nowitzki SF: Olajuwon PF: Duncan C: S. O'Neal
Damn Easy, one player different from mine, and I almost picked Mad Max... I just went for Kobe to give a little more consistent offense.
Dumars played MJ better than Max, and made him work harder at the other end to boot. MJ said so, like 30 times.
I think MJ has said the same thing about MadMax on the defensive end. I can't believe this but I agree totally with StupidMoniker's lineup.
No, MJ was asked several times who was the toughest defender he ever faced, and he always said it was Dumars, and he said it wasn't close.
No, MJ has said the same thing about Vernon Maxwell, I'm not the only person on this site who know's this.
Wilt should pretty much dominate Ewing and Barkley all by himself. That leaves Duncan and Garnet with wide open 15 foot jumpers that they can take all night.
Big Dipper Big Dawg Big Ticket Big Dog Big O The funny part is that three of those are actually good choices.
Do a Round Robin Tournament: Different Time Frames: Dream Duncan KG Dumars Kidd Moses McHale Worthy Dr J Zeke Wilt Elvin ? Elgin/ Pistol Pete/ Havlicek Oscar Robertson I don't think the Olympic Dream Team could win that Tournament and second place is very iffy.
The 94-95 post Drexler acquisition Rockets. They were unbeatable in the finals. and... That takes care of that.
Jason Kidd<Magic Johnson Peja Stojakovic<Micahel Jordan Dirk Nowitzki<Larry Bird Tim Duncan>Charles Barkley Hakeem Olajuwon>Patrick Ewing I think my team could beat the Dream team. Kidd would have his hand full with Magic, and Peja would not hold JOrdan under 30. But Nowitski and Duncan would go off, and Dream would put out atleast 20-10. I'd take my team in a 7 game series because of three point shooting and size.
I remember Jordan talked about Maxwell too. The thing is, Jordan played against Dumars a lot more than against Maxwell. The Bulls and the Pistons were big rivalry and the Pistons always stopped the Bulls in the playoffs before the Bulls championship runs. So it's only natural that Jordan thought of Dumars more when people asked him the question. But that doesn't mean Dumars was actually a better defender than Maxwell against Jordan.
Any combination of Hakeem or a prime-era Shaq, and Tim Duncan (or even Hakeem at PF) would flat out dominate Barkley and Ewing, offensively and defensively. You could put Adrian Griffin, Eric Piatkowski, and Mike Wilks out there and I would like the non-dream teams chances. But if I have to pick I would go with Kobaby (provided he checks his ego, if not I would bounce him for a shooter or a defender to check Jordan, ray allen or joe dumars, hell even Ron Artest), maybe Garnett at SF with Jason Kidd running point.
