What has Riley done as a GM before the Decision? He got Shaq. He threw SVG under the bus. That's about it.

Miami sucked before Riley (coach or GM).
The Mourning/Tim Hardaway teams were good

Riley only works if he has a billionaire owner that is willing to spend freely. What do the Lakers, Knicks, and Miami have in common while he was there? I want Riley and Cuban.

how? Cuban is a douche... but he is dedicated to his team and has gone deep into his wallet to get the team where they are now.

Les and Morey have a good thing going here from what we know, but this ability to land a big name is disappointing to say the least. I still want to wait and see, but Riley certainly has that going for him. Cuban certainly deserves credit, but he had Dirk on his team since he bought the Mavs. It'll be interesting to see how he rebuilds without Dirk.

i said this when it all went down. There is no way that P Riles purses that fire sale that he did unless he had some guaranty from Wade that Bron and Bosh wanted in miami.

Riley is just enjoying the ride.

Honestly Cuban has had a top 15 NBA player all time on his team and has no rings to show for it. Until this year (a few years too late) he could never get the right players around dirk. A lot of people get on Morey treating players like assets. Dirk and Terry are the only mavs left from 2006 runner up year still on the team. He has gone through a lot of coaches too. I'd take Pat Riley if he brought over wade, lbj and bosh. Riley is very overrated he makes it by on freeagent signings.

Riley is the easy choice for me. He has rings and clearly has the credibility to generate interest from megastars looking to find a new destination.

The latter was our downfall when pursuing Bosh and Melo.
