If I were Adelman and we signed him, I'd be tempted to let him start, collect some fouls, then bring in Yao in the bonus and clean up at the FT line.

 

He's 34. We'd be stupid to pay a old SG $6-7 million for more than 1 year. Not worth the risk.

Haywood is 30 but a 4 year deal would be just long enough.

 

Would love to have Haywood as the 4th big behind Yao/Bosh/Scola.

 

In general, Leeb won't be surprised that I'm inclined to agree with you, but in his defense, he has shocked me by becoming a fan of Luis Scola, who he hammered for what seems like years, and even suggested lately that we keep him (depending on what was being talked about, but still a shocker). This season changed his opinion about the guy. That shows Leeb's open to changing his opinion about a player, from where I sit. Kinda rare for that to happen, yeah, but I'll take what I can get!

 

He may be worth the money but he's is not better than either of our guards.

 

Mike Miller is a terrible choice. This guy is so inconsistent and never shows up in the playoffs.

Why is Lowry not an option? I think he'd be good for that kind of money. Scola too, but It he might be more than that. Wait, do you not need the MLE to sign your own free agents?

Otherwise, I kinda see us buying a few second rounders and splitting it among them, with team options on years 2 and 3. That way we get young talent that can either blossom or be packaged with other guys as more expirings or potentials. What's not to like?

I think we can resign Scola and Lowry without using the MLE since they're already on the team.
