Your post makes me remember why I hate Mavericks and would never ever root for them. By topping Utah for a team that takes away every bit of fun from basketball with whining pressure on refs, by Cuban's tape sending and trying to win with every means necessary. Yeah, haters gonna hate, but it'll take away a lot of fun for me by having to watch Cuban's face on every other basket mavs make..
I'd agree that I don't like Cuban and don't want to see him win, but it doesn't dominate my life to the point where I'd be upset about it. And I really like Wade, he's the best player in the league IMO. I'm indifferent about the king, but because of Wade, I'll take Miami.
Dirk may be a huge p***y, but he's a great player and seems like a good enough guy, so why hate? I do understand the Mark Cuban hate, **** that guy.
The Heat, easily. Teams I Hate(In Order) Utah Dallas Boston Celtics LA Lakers Everybody else is OK, for now.
Do you even live in Houston?? WTF are you saying the Mavs aren't are rivals? They are in our division What are you brain-dead?? It is not a crime to hate the Jazz and the Mavs You do realize because the Mavs have practically owned us in the regular season, those games alone have kept us out of the playoffs the past 2 seasons.
I would have to cheer for the Mavs over the Heat. It would really mess up my brain, but I simply despise the Heat and LeBron's "decision." I loath the Mavs, but I hate the Heat worse.
maybe some of them just can't understand Dallas plainly took a ring out of our hands because I honestly believed we would win it all that year, Tmac and Yao were playing fantastic basketball that year.... then we got robbed on several calls and here we are, two of our best players got injured and we are not getting back to the playoff picture soon..... screw the mavs... i will root for anybody who plays the mavs.....
Do not want to see the Heat win a ring. If they are successful this early and continue to win, then more players will try to create superteams. The NBA will become really horrible. I actually hope they disband. It was okay when the Celtics did it cuz they were old and everyone knew they would never be a dominant force for a long period.
This is something which has been bothering me quite alot over the past few weeks. I despise Cuban. I despise LeBron (I hope that coattail riding mutha****er never wins ****). I despise Boozer/Korver/Brewer I despise the Seattle SuperSonics I wish there was a way all of them could lose, am really disappointed in Memphis. That being said, while I hate Cuban, he doesn't physically play on the court. I have nothing but respect for Dirk (guy is a class act and a damn good player), JKidd (sure-fire HOFer), Marion and Stojakovic. I guess I have to root for Dallas by default.
Yeah, it would be so horrible if the NBA went back to having only a few stacked teams with several hall of fame caliber players each. They could never survive such a fate again after struggling through the 1980s.
I'd root for natural disaster, but lacking that, I'd root for the Mavs. To me, the Mavs evoke similar feelings as the Rangers. I hate the Cowboys, I mildly dislike the Mavericks, and I mock the Rangers. The Mavericks are a pitiful franchise with a bit of recent success. If you look at the whole of NBA history, they're not close to a rival of the Rockets, and winning a championship wouldn't change that. The 40-point loss hurt, but even so, I can't stir up the feelings against the Mavs that I have against the Jazz and the Lakers. What LeBron, Wade, and Bosh did is an affront to all things good in sport. Miami deserves a hurricane for killing competitiveness.
You have to give him some credit, though. You don't often see "coattail riders" beating out their best teammate 522-24 (4-0 1st place) in MVP voting. They also don't usually average more points, rebounds, assists, and steals than the player whose "coattails" they are riding, especially while having a higher FG%, 3P%, and FT%.
I love the Rockets and all, but how do you figure the Mavs aren't even a close rival looking at team history (especially with a championship)? The Mavs have only been around since 1980. They were pretty decent in the 80s, even making the conference finals once. They've been a vastly superior organization to ours for the past decade. While we were busy in 2009 celebrating the win against Portland that gave us our first series victory since 1997, the Mavs had won nine playoff series in that span. If the Mavs win a championship this year, they certainly have a legit case as the better franchise. That's just one of the reasons I don't want to see them win it this year.
