Daryl Dawkins...the repertoire of dunk names that Dr. Dunk would relinquish would help him capture the title, easily.

I'd also give nods to Dr. J and Jordan. With honorable mentions to Dominique and Kenny Walker.

Jason Richardson should be on the list as well...he is the back to back champion and all.

I remember hearing at the time that he had a 42" vertical. Of course, vertical measurements and accuracy are as about as credible as college 40 yard times.

I remember Spud throwing one down in a game. It was in the last minute of a blowout loss. He ran down the floor and leaped off 2 feet and jammed it home with a couple 7 footers just standing there watching. They weren't really defending and he knew it. All the same, pretty neat. I always liked watching Spud. Wouldn't it be cool if Boykins could dunk it.

To me, Wilkins was the best GAME dunker. He always had power along with style.

Shawn Kemp was nasty, too, during games.

    Dr. J

In my mind he was head and shoulders above his competion as far as dunks in his prime.

I know all the guys after him became more athletic (from Nique to MJ to Carter, etc) but I think if you put Dr. J in any era he stands out.

The Goat could snatch dimes off the back of the back board.

And he looked remarkably like Don Cheadle.;)

Dr J's free-throw line dunk without lifting the legs is hard to top... especially with his afro blowing in the wind.

while carter has the best in game dunks J Richs Dunks the last two years have been insane.. i think they are just as good as all of carter dunks if not better. the only one was the elbow hanging thru the hoop.. but in a slam dunk contest J Rich is definately in the top

I've seen Doc, Dominique, Nance, Rider, Jordan, ... but noone had more jaw dropping dunks than Vince. He is the man.

Honorable mention to Spud, his 360 was simply unreal.

The best part about the Carter Weiss dunk is the look on KG's face.

VC hands down in my book.. there is just something to him that makes everything seem amazing. The balance of power and style?

Jrich has some difficult dunks but they just dont have the same OMG effect that VC has.

Nique would probably be my #2 and im not talking about just dunk contests but in game as well. The stuff he would do was just amazing.

    See the patern?

    18. Pip on Ewing - The Bulls were without MJ in the playoffs when Pip caught Ewing under the hoop, launched himself skyward, tomahawked on the big fella and stood over him like a stone-cold pimp. Have some of that.

    9. MJ on Ewing - Jordan faked like he was dribbling out to the wing, spun baseline and met Ewing chest to chest. The impact increased MJ’s elevation and enhanced Ewing’s reputation as dunk bait.

And we wonder why Yao is always getting dunked on.
