If they don't screw up, they'll cast Clive Owen. He has the looks and the voice, and when he's not playing King Arthur he's a good actor. Plus, at 39, he's at about the right age for the part. Hugh Jackman would be interesting, and it's not as if he'll be too busy with his new Van Helsing franchise (*cough* SUCK!!! *cough*). Clive Owen it is.
The Sun (UK) is reporting that the frontrunner for the role is Roger Moore's son, Geoffrey Moore (seen here, standing next to his old dad, Roger) -- droxford
Sorry to burst anyones buble, but the Broccoli's typically go with an unknown for the role of Bond as has been the case in the past. Brosnan was known but not huge, same for Dalton, Moore, Connery, and especially Lazenby (he was an Australian model w/ no acting experience at all for chrissake - Ironically he did one of the best Bond films too). Dont get your hopes up for Snipes, Hugh Jackman, Russel Crowe, or any big name Hollywood stars. My guess is that Clive Owen will get the role. ALSO, expect Brosnan to renegotiate his contract to do his 5th and final film for EON. Brosnan still is the franchise, and they dont want him to bow out on Die Another Day...... Plus the film is slated to start filming soon. The Broccoli's do not want to have to make a rush decision for a replacement. Brosnan does #21 - mark my words.
Brosnan was, in many ways, well known for several years for not being Bond. His selection to replace Roger Moore was essentially a done deal until the Remington Steele people stepped in and put the kibosh on it and EON went with Timothy Dalton instead. Of course, Timothy Dalton was Prince Barin in the greatness that was "Flash Gordon", so he wasn't unknown to those of us who saw that movie fifteen or sixteen times when it was released.
If they do a Black bond . . . . Will Smith would get it [hell he did wild weak west] I hope he doesn't though OTHER folx I hope not include: BEN AFFLECKED That being said . . . . Perhaps Johnny Depp or Either Guy from Count of Monte Cristo Guy Peirce or Cavezel Rocket River
But Connery makes a big deal about being Scottish. I think he would be slightly offended by being called British, even if it would be a correct term.
Isn't Bond himself actually Scottish? I thought the story was that he's an orphan or something from Scotland. Anyways, I had heard that Bale was lined up to be the guy before he was snatched up to be Batman. From what I know about the Bond people, they don't want their Bond to be tied to another famous Franchise, especially one where he'll wear tuxedos from time to time. I Think Hugh Jackman could make a good Bond. As mentioned before, Eric Bana seems to be the guy according to Aint it Cool, I'm very cool with that. This probably means there might not be any Hulk sequels, at least, not with Bana. http://aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=18051 on a personal note, i gotta get out of this computer lab, some chick sat next to me and popped in a Skynard CD and has the volume up so loud, you can hear it from her headphones. She's also dancing in her chair. It'd be cool if it was a hot chick, but this girl next to me has brown hair, freckles, coke bottle glasses, I can't believe she's college age. I just want to tap her on teh shoulder and say "turn that sh*t down, b****!!!"
Do yourself a favor, never confuse being Scottish (or Irish) with being British unless you want a swift kick in the arse.
Well, all the Scottish people I know wouldn't mind being called British... I'm Welsh, and happy to be described as British too. Just not English.
Maybe it was "English" he didn't like. He's been involved with the Scottish independence movement, though.
