We can actually do a Friday Happy hour as well. It might be a bit more fun too becuase not only do we have Poker at 7 as well we have the Karaoke that goes on at 9 and by the time we are drunk we can laugh at all of them lol jk...THe astros will be playing the Cardinals that day so overall its a good day to have a happy hour. I wouldn't mind voting for a Friday happy hour so that more people can attend and maybe stay longer. Oh yeah Mandy don't worry if i have to ill give you a Calzone half off haha
City wont allow it, my friend owns a club in Downtown, and they've tried opening a strip club for a long long time. Who ever has enough pull, and gets it done, will make tons and tons of bank.
Although I don't frequent strip clubs as much as I used to, I have nothing against them. With that said, if one opens downtown, I hope it's in the outskirts of downtown.
There used to be a nudie bar downtown called Cheetah's .... didn't last, though. That was back before they revamped downtown, though. Very few people lived downtown, and there wasn't much nightlife.
The rules and regulations about a strip club this close to residential areas of downtown just won't work. The city wo'nt allow it and the only way that it could have existed without a problem before those new rules came into effect, would be if the place had a grandfather clause and was there before the residential areas were up. And yes i guess we should make it for next friday....anyone want to agree on a time? 5, 6? whats good for everyone. And i want a head count so i can get the tables reserved.
I coulda sworn that Houstonians voted AGAINST zoning laws. And if I'm right on that, there's no reason a Nudie bar couldn't legally exist downtown.
You might be right..that's what i heard down here...but at the same time downtown doesn't have the traffic and parking conditions of any strip club around which they need big time to make sure they make their money and have people down.
Here's City of Houston ordinance on Sexually Oriented Businesses: link. I dunno. Cheetahs survived for a short while, but that was long ago. With so much more residential property downtown now, and with revitalized nightlife, a nudie bar might find success, if managed well.
