Yup, you're right. I didn't realize they were 6-6. So we'll need some help from either Oakland or Tennessee, the Titans play them twice.
if only we could have lived up to half our expectations for this year. The division looks more winnable than previous years. I guess we're lucky we're still in it... but for some reason I don't see them winning the big games.
Texans need to win out and have the Jags lose 2 and Colts lose 1. And in either miracle case, depending on who they lose to, it could get into some super messy tie-breakers. Sigh.
I mentioned this in another thread, the Texans schedule is looking pretty nice next year. Assuming the NFL keeps the rotating divison format and last place schedule then the Texans are looking at 6 games in a weak divison. Colts are declining, Jax seem like a mirage IMHO and Tennesse will be in flux. Texans could end up with a last place schedule or atleast 3rd place which could possibly give them games with either Buffalo or Miami and Denver or Oakland (Maybe SD) and we play the North next year (Cleveland and Cincy). We also play the NFC South, IIRC, which means games against Carolina and TB (TB is good but young). Are tough opponents look to be Pittsburgh, Baltimore, NOLA, ATL and Indy (Twice). Of course, all this could change in the blink of an eye with FAgency, injuries etc... but all and all so far it's looking fairly good.
I've checked out. I refuse to believe. Seriously. I rarely do that for any Houston team....but I've seen this movie before, and I know how it ends.
If this week goes well (Colts and Jags lose) and the Texans beat Baltimore, I'll start believing again. But for now, I'm fully of the belief that the light at the end of this tunnel is actually a 100-ton steaming locomotive called "reality" and not the playoffs.
I'm in doubt. But, I'll continue to root for them. Hope they pull out the W on monday. Please make the rest of the season fun. I don't want my first Texans game to be a meaningless one.
When they got back down to .500 I knew after week 13 they'd be 5-7. You said it. It's like watching It's a Wonderful Life or White Christmas every year in December: it's mildly interesting, but we know what's going to happen right on cue and we can even recite the lines with the actors as they give them.
You're right the Jags need to lose two but the Texans can control one of those losses...need one Jags loss in the next 3 games.
the Jags only have to win against the Colts and other game, or if they lose to the Colts they need to win the other 3 games, which is doable Here it is their schedule: OAK @ IND WASH @ HOU So they could win the division the next 2 weeks. And they even could be the 3rd seed.
Indy still gonna win it...The NFL knows you cant have a true AFC playoff without Manning....You got Chiefs,Ravens, Steelers,Jets,Patriots, and Colts...Ratings will go through the roof for the AFC possibilities...
Seriously that's your reason why Indy will win it? Because the league won't have it? They can pamper Manning all they want, but the refs can't stop him from throwing picks and they can't stop teams from running all over that defense.
The worst thing about the Texan's horrible performances this year is that this is the most winnable the division has been in years, maybe ever. And where are the Texans, yep, stuck in neutral rolling down the hill.
