Now that the Titans have Moss, I'd like to change "(way) outside chance" to a pretty decent chance. I think Moss opens up their offense because defenses will be forced to respect the back end of the field. CJ, Vince and Bo should be stoked. The wild card will come from the AFC North/AFC East. No need to worry about #2 in the South.
Have to agree. He's been coaching and motivating the tails off his players and winning inspite of Bud Adams' mingling ways. The Titans could easily have been the Oakland Raiders of the past 2 decades without Fisher.
I agree with you and DD. Fisher is the Jerry Sloan of the NFL. He may not have a title, but his teams are always well-coached and more often than not have a darn good record.
Until someone unseats the Colts, I have to go with them. I know that's over-simplifying things, but if they continue to win with all the injuries they have, then I shudder to think what they'll be like when they get healthy.
Colts. Manning can pick apart any defense and will almost always force the other team to play from behind. Their pass rush with Freeney and Mathis will feast.
As a Titans fan, I still think the colts will win the division unless the Titans can beat them twice this year (which I am not expecting). Moss is a huge upgrade and filler for Britt though and if they don't make the playoffs as a wild card or as the division winner, its a failure of a season.
Much as I hate to admit it, I think it'll be the Titans. They have the best point differential in the NFL, and as such have clearly been the best team in the league up to this point in the season. I have no faith in the Texans whatsoever. We're lucky to have a winning record right now. Betting against Manning is usually foolish, but I just don't think this is their year. Too many key injuries. It'll catch up with them.
with Moss, the titans have a chance. now team cant put 8 man in the box, they have to spread a little bit. But the Colts are very tough to beat.
You guys should be 3-5, not 4-4... and a loss to the Cowboys???? Texans might as well tank to get a higher draft pick. Next year Titans might now have Moss, and Peyton will be a year older... next year might be y'alls year. HTTR
At this point. I think I will go with the colts again. Thought Their Schedule is no cake walk [6-4] 12 Sun, Nov 28 San Diego 8:20 PM 13 Sun, Dec 5 Dallas 4:15 PM 14 Thu, Dec 9 at Tennessee 8:20 PM 15 Sun, Dec 19 Jacksonville 1:00 PM 16 Sun, Dec 26 at Oakland 4:05 PM 17 Sun, Jan 2 Tennessee 1:00 PM I can see Losses At San D, Dallas and a much improved Oakland At worse they are 9-7 Next the Jags [6-4] 12 Sun, Nov 28 at NY Giants 1:00 PM 13 Sun, Dec 5 at Tennessee 1:00 PM 14 Sun, Dec 12 Oakland 1:00 PM 15 Sun, Dec 19 at Indianapolis 1:00 PM 16 Sun, Dec 26 Washington 1:00 PM 17 Sun, Jan 2 at Houston 1:00 PM I can see losses at NY, Oakland, Indie and Houston Leaving them at 8-8 They may surprise some folx. then Tennessee [5-5] 12 Sun, Nov 28 at Houston 1:00 PM 13 Sun, Dec 5 Jacksonville 1:00 PM 14 Thu, Dec 9 Indianapolis 8:20 PM 15 Sun, Dec 19 Houston 1:00 PM 16 Sun, Dec 26 at Kansas City 1:00 PM 17 Sun, Jan 2 at Indianapolis 1:00 PM I can see Losses at Houston [twice] , Indie [twice], and KC. I can see them losing at the Jags too. At worse they are 5-11 If they go 0-6 without VY - Does that put pressure on Fisher to 'work it out'? Then the Texans [4-6] 12 Sun, Nov 28 Tennessee 1:00 PM 13 Thu, Dec 2 at Philadelphia 8:20 PM 14 Mon, Dec 13 Baltimore 8:30 PM 15 Sun, Dec 19 at Tennessee 1:00 PM 16 Sun, Dec 26 at Denver 4:05 PM 17 Sun, Jan 2 Jacksonville 1:00 PM I see losses at Phili, Baltimoe and maybe Jacksonville This would leave them at 7-9 Possibly leaving the Titans as cellar dwellars they have 5 division games and KC the Texans still have the hardest schedule form here on out. Rocket River
Pretty funny how the Jags aren't included in the poll and yet they're sitting on top right now. Now, I'm not saying that I've any money on the Jags or anything, I'm just pointing out that it's funny.
Officially one game back of the Jags. The key to this year was going 3-3 in the division. There is a good chance of going 4-2 [Another win against the Titans and Jags.] Indie can do no better than 4-2 in the division as well. Jags could go 5-1 but i don't think they beat Indie Again. IMO The Titans are OUT! I pick every other team in the division to beat them the rest of the year Jags will win they next against them Indie I think plays them twice [sucks for the Texans] Texans play them again That will be 4 losses for them IMO Rocket River
Texans remaining schedule: @ PHI vs. BALT @ TEN @ DEN vs. JAX Jags remaining schedule: @ TEN vs. OAK @ IND vs. WASH @ HOU Colts remaining schedule: vs. DAL @ TEN vs. JAX @ OAK vs. TEN Titans remaining schedule: vs. JAX vs. IND vs. HOU @ KC @ IND Strength of schedule IMO... 1) Texans (5-6) 2) Jags (6-5) 3) Titans (5-6) 4) Colts (6-5) The Jags have all 3 of their remaining division games on the road, ouch. The Colts could literally waltz to 10-6. We need 9 wins minimum to even have a chance at the division title. If the Colts go 9-7, we would have a good shot at beating them in a tiebreaker. We need the rest of the AFC South to start sucking, NOW.
So everything could really be all tied up at the end of the season with the Colts and/or Jags. It could really come down to Strength of Victory before Strength of Schedule, but I am not sure how that is really defined. [Edit: Never mind ... It means combined record of teams that you have beaten and wins against Philly and Baltimore would go a long way to the Texans winning the Tiebreaker] That said, I am not going to get too excited about having a chance to be in a tie for the division unless we can pull this out on Thursday night. I am going to be livid if they miss the playoffs by one game again after those last 2 games against the Jets/Jags.
