I don't think we'll move Ariza. That trade does make sense for all the teams though.

I agree with you, it will be Dragic or some random PG plus I also believe backup C we don't expect.

Great minds, and all that.....as far as Lawson fitting on our team....Harden leads the league in assisted 3 pointers....Lawson is second...Harden leads league in assists and made 3 pointers...Lawson is a couple of spots behind him...he'd fit like a glove...and would probably average 15 and 15....with 3 threes a night. Our team offense would be top ten, with our defense basically remaining the same(Lawson averages more steals than Bev, and has about the same defensive rating). BOOM....life would be good for us Rockets fans.

Btw...Lawson had a streak of 20 straight games of 9 or more assists(December and January). Patrick Beverly hasn't had a 9 assist game all season...his high is 7 assists...only done once this year. We need a great PG badly, and should do what it takes to trade for one...our team deserves it...Harden deserves it.

It's hard to get assists when you hand the ball off to Harden on almost every possession. Harden is the defacto PG. Beverly's main role is to defend the opposing team's PG.

If Harden keeps being the defacto PG like he was last season, how much will he have in the left in the tank come playoff time?

I'm all for making a move to improve the PG position, but not just to make a move, and not to "win now". We have a really good team, lets not blow anything up yet.

We cant really get rid of a PF with Dwight out and the unknown that is JSmoove this off season.

If we do make a move for a PG, please let it be the future PG of the rockets, we need to build some consistency around out main pieces, and not just get a 1 year rental.

When it comes down to who to trade, which PG would you want working with our new PG? Terry or Beverly? Personally I would rather drop Beverly, keep the Jet for his locker room presence and to mentor a young up and coming PG, but the contracts have to work out.

Personally I would like to get MCW, hes young, still getting better, long and is a walking triple double. I think Lawson or Dragic would benefit the team greatly as well.

This is pretty good. As for this season, yes, we are in a better position, but Morey is a value shopper. He might reach a little more, but he isn't going to over-pay unless he's getting a star back.

Harden is a great playmaker with the ball in his hands, but he operates even better when moving off the ball, the defense doesnt have time to set up and he can find those miracle angles to the basket for easier buckets.

Yes he can iso all day long, but we need to make his job as easy as possible, having a playmaker we can rely on would take some off his shoulders.

We have to try to "win now" at some point. This team can't win a title as currently constructed.

I'm not seeing Dragic because of the PR disaster for the Suns and they are contending for a playoff spot.

MCW makes a ton of sense since Morey has that connection with Hinkie and we have a lot of picks that the 76ers are hungry for.

I think trade scenarios have to pass the question, Does it make you better in matchups with teams you struggle with? Names get mentioned, but, usually, not the case for how it puts the Rockets in a better position to beat those teams. I'm not convinced another PG helps beat those teams. Most scoring happens through Harden. Another "play-maker" would have to put similar pressure on the defense. Maybe there is a player like that but probably not for trade.

Trading for a "developmental" player would only make sense if you are trading away one of your own developmental players. (You don't usually trade a veteran for a "project.") The question then becomes, Does the player you are receiving have a bigger upside AND at a position that strengthens the team overall? Is it a bigger improvement than the improvement anticipated by the growth of the current player? That was the hope, for instance, for D-Mo. The obvious names in this category are Canaan, Johnson, and Capela.

The Rockets keep pointing to effort as the key to their losses. I'm not so sure that is the correct answer in all cases. Some teams are just a matchup problem. Trying to correct for one team may make you more vulnerable against another team that your weren't so vulnerable against before making the correction. The "stars" have to align just right to get to the Finals.

They rely too much on the 3-point shot, IMO. If they could improve finishing around the basket, keep turnovers to 6-8/game, and improve FT shooting to every player being at least 70%, it would increase the outcome of whatever effort is put forth. Let's hope some of this can happen between now and April.

Gotta make a move. We're not gonna get a more focused or better playing Harden in the future. This might be his perfect form.

Lawson was great again last night(32-16-2TOs)....might bring his price up a bit. Whomever is cheaper between he and Dragic should be traded for(assuming the other GM is interested). Fingers crossed!
