Battier, Brent, and Cook for Rudy, Outlaw, and Bayless........ and I am happy Aaron - -Kyle, Bayless Rudy -Wafer(if signed) Ariza -Outlaw Scola -Landry Andersen -Hayes, Dorsey Both teams get what they need, we get younger and more athletic, and they get the veteran leadership they need in Barry and Battier....but of course a lot of people have already proposed this trade, its up to Morey to get it done...
I think I will wait to pick until training camp starts. I think Morey will make another move before camp begins and that move might be a true SG. I don't believe this is the final roster. Landry, Cook, and Barry are all tradeable assets right now. So if the season started today, I think Ariza and Battier will be the SG/SF starters. We would have to play uptempo in order for them to get shots off. I think Brooks will be very good in a uptempo style of play. Lowry as well.
Hey come on Cabbage, if we don't get a good SG, the team is more than likely gonna be really bad.......and......uh........well.......yeah... Nevermind. DD
Of course, T-Mac. Whether you like it or not it's T-Mac. And he will come back at the start of the season.
Probably start Ariza there. Cbud would come off the bench. Also, I could see us running both Lowry and Brooks in the backcourt together at times.
I thought this thread was soliciting volunteers from the board?!?!?! oh well, guess I will try out elsewhere
new to the site.... i just dont see why everyone on this site is in love with rudy fernandez? i have seen the guy play and yes he def. has talent but he is just another undersized sg, please give me some definative reasons why he makes so much sense in houston. i just dont see it!
Oct. 27 the start of the season I doubt TMac will be back by then but who really knows what TMac is thinking of these days.
Ariza likely will start at SG, and Battier at SF. But on defense either can switch off and guard the elite SGs/SFs . The starting lineup will look like this likely: PG: Brooks SG: Ariza SF: Battier PF: Scola C: Hayes/Anderson This lineup worries me as far as scoring goes. Brooks is the only sure weapon on offense and creating. Arizona is solid shooter and can handle and drive if the defense breaks down but he's no Kobe creating his own offense Now.....ironically our BACKUPS have potential on offense, like this lineup: PG: Lowry/Brooks SG: Brooks/Lowry SF: Ariza/Budinger PF: Scola C: Anderson
I hope Brooks worked on his ball-handling all summer because if Ariza is at SG Aaron isn't going to get any help getting the ball up the court under pressure.
I think Ariza will be in the starting line-up. C: David Andersen PF: Luis Scola SF: Shane Battier SG: Trevor Ariza PG: Aaron Brooks When you write out the starting line-up it doesn't look that bad. Pretty young and a bunch of guys who know how to play in pressure.
That would be the smallest frontline in the league. Would be a whole foot shorter at the center position.
Might it not also be that they are saving the announcement as a surprise to the fans, but not to build up HIS image, rather to generate interest in the season? With no McG, Yao or Artest, and only the Ariza signing, the Houston buzz is comparable to half a Seagram's Wine Cooler. Announcing it prematurely (especially since McG hasn't completed rehabilitation yet as is still at risk for injury in such) would be a serious buzzkill.
Yes, that is absolutely true, but to me it is 2 fold they need to sell tickets, and they need to build up his image. So, they work in unison...IMO. DD
it's unfortunate if we don't et fans in the seats next yr. it'll be an exciting season ON THE COURT w/ the types of players we have.
True it accomplishes both, however, I don't think there is a direct correlation between the two. I imagine, after last year and this summer, it doesn't matter if it's McG, Yao, Francis, or Bobby Joe Reid. They are not going to disapoint the fans. What was last year's theme? See Red? Well i have a source of a source who leaked this years theme to me: Underpromise, Overdeliver I'm telling you, they don't have a NEED to build up McG's image. Just because a few fans *ahem* went overboard with their emotions/hatred of McG, does not mean those same fans won't be cheering when he's back on the court leading a Yao-less team to a respectable record (Yogi Berra would be proud of this team...deja vu all over again). I mean, do you really believe announcing he's back ahead of schedule is going to sway fans? If anything they *ahem* will question whether he's back too early...or just doing it to get more $$$ in his magical contract year. I don't think Yogi Berra said it, but Winning not only cures all, it also flips flapjacks. If he leads us to wins, it'll be all the PR image rebuilding necessary. Maybe it was Yogi Bear...
