On the radio in Dallas, they used to do the dead celebrity watch and many of the threesomes were not filled within their time period (which I believe was a week). As for River Phoenix (October 31, 1991), there was Federico Fellini on the same day and Vincent Price just six days earlier (October 25, 1991). As for Aaliyah (August 25, 2001), there was Troy Donohue (September 2, 2001 ) and Pauline Kael (Septemeber 3, 2001)within about a week. And this is just from the Internet Movie Database, so it doesn't include sports stars and many politicians (though Goldwater was on there), so there could be many more examples. The deal with saying famous people die in threes is that there are a whole lot of famous people. So many so that you're bound to have many, many times when three of them die within a few days of each other.
I can't be the only one who thinks mrpaige is one of the coolest posters on the board. He only posts when he has something interesting to contribute (like the dead trios info), he manages to stay level-headed at all times (except when it comes to cars) and he does nifty things in the real world like film movies that he's written. mrpaige, I salute you!
