A few months ago i would have been with DD on this and gone with Scola, but watching T-Mac's progress and his training, ima have to go with McGrady!!!
My thoughts exactly! Why does a team have to have "a man"? Basketball is a TEAM sport and there is no reason why we won't have balanced scoring across the board. Remember the 22 game streak and more recently the playoffs last year when every night someone else was stepping up? That's how it will be.
If the rockets want a man this year it has to be Mcgrady( in all it would be good if he is pain free)
It sounds more and more like McGrady will be ready to go this season. So you gotta go with him. If he's not ready...hmmmm. I like Brooks actually.
i am still confused as to why every other line is bolded in the OP and i think the player to step up the most will be Kyle Lowry
As long as Tracy is here, he's going to be the man, especially in a contract year. It's a mutually symbiotic situation....good for him and sweet for us if he can stay healthy. We play to win this year, but set up the future.Whatever we get back will be integrated and most liikely elevate the talent level on the Rockets to unmatched status. When all is said and done though, I see Aaron Brooks and Luis Scola playing mammoth roles in deep Rockets TEAMS. Ariza IMO will be solid at minimum and has the potential upside of being a star. So who knows where he fits into this discussion. Then of course there is Yao's situation. One would assume he will be reupped, but with his contract and numrous foot injuries one would at least keep their options open. I guess the deal is we will be a true team when all this sorts out. It's just not gonna be one guy. Adelman is a great coach ...Give him the talent and he will outperform bigtime.
The Rockets have a number of men and The Man will vary nightly. I look for Brooks to become the man. Scola is definitely the man. Ariza will put in manly play. Battier doesn't care who the man is as long as the team wins. Landry will be a man among boys when going against the opposing second teams. Andersen will learn what it takes to be a man. Lowry will man up. All men look up to Chuck.
