Is this purge carried out solely because of the Trump/Miller hatred of Latinos at our southern border? Leadership of the US Dept of Homeland Security was just wiped out, and that department's area of concern is a helluva lot more than the southern border. A Chinese spy was just apprehended at Mar a Lago, Russia continues its cyberwarfare against us, our energy grid is vulnerable to being shutdown by Russian,Chinese, or North Korean hackers, but we're going to decapitate the DHS over hopeful seasonal workers and immigrants at the southern border. smdh.

Why do we even have DHS. Shut the whole thing down. Fire everyone.

If We had done nothing after 9/11 this country would be better off. Afgan war was a failure. Iraq was a failure. TSA and DHS are failures. Patriot act was a failure.

The lunatics are running the asylum. A sick, twisted bigot, Stephen Miller, and a sick, twisted "news" network, Fox, have unbelievable influence on the sick, twisted bigot who occasionally spends time in the Oval Office. This administration is in full meltdown and the country is in serious danger, in my opinion. Mr. trump's behavior has become erratic and irrational. Anyone with a reasonable amount of intelligence should be able see that.

It wouldn't surprise me if trump abruptly used the military for more than uselessly "patrolling" the border. The man is genuinely dangerous, and not only to the United States. Dangerous and surrounded by either frightened people willing to do anything he asks, or a handful of people as deranged as he is that he actually listens to. Those who were willing to tell him he was doing something wrong have either been fired or have resigned. I'm not a religious fellow, but if I were, I would be asking God to save our country from this madman. Mr. trump is clearly mentally ill and appears to be getting worse by the day.

Again, trump doesn't care about laws... and his continued use of twitter further weakens the government.

This election can’t come fast enough. Hopefully our country isn’t too wrecked for the hopefully new president.

Trump might win again. His base is going to vote for him. Unemployment is pretty low, and you have a group to blame (immigrants). He might have a good chance to win.

No Secretary of Defense, nor even a nominee - for nearly 5 months now.

Yea, I bet those republicans are going to... to... give trump a stern look...

    Trump’s DHS purge floors Republicans
Even GOP allies of the president are distressed by the chaos unleashed on federal immigration policy.

Yes sadly, there’s a good chance he might because of the electoral votes. He’s going to lose the popular vote again for sure but some of the states he flipped in 2016, might see through his BS, but we’ll see how the country economy will be and a lot of people will look past all his indecency if the economy is doing well

    ...careful what you wish for...
    ...or vote for...

Because you just might get it.

...all that talk about how big of a problem the Federal Government is from these same people, just doesn't seem to jibe with all this "worry" and "consternation" over what they've routinely posited as inept or unnecessary.

...they're getting a glimpse of what they've been flirting with for lo, these many years now...
    • no "Federal Government" telling them what to do...
    • nobody minding the store so the stockrooms can be pilfered and ransacked...
    • no "other" who doesn't see things their way having anything to say about this-that-or-the-other...
Again, I admire the Donald's uncompromising candor...his unrelenting callous...his predetermined contempt.

He's got no time to "starve the beast"...he's gonna gut it right out in front of us and be done with the whole thing.

Pretending that big government is the big problem, all the while selfishly and pettily grifting and grafting off its institutions and foundations, has produced in full view now its own paradox.

    And thusly, Donald Trump.

Whether you like it or not, you're going to have to choose a side. And, of course, many of us already have (and had), whether we ever actually thought we did or not.

I would say we should choose wisely.

    ...but...

...that assumption is what's gotten us into this mess in the first place, right?;)
