I’ll have to hunt down the article. It essentially said Trump asked him to join the administration and he said he’d only do it as NSA or SoS. Trump’s response was essentially, “Hold my beer.”

 

Apparently Trump doesn't like him because he finds the national security briefings he does too long and full of irrelevant information.

 

Bolton and Pompeo in mean no Iran deal, a push for regime change in Iran and North Korea (so much for America first). And whether you like the Iran deal or not, going into direct negotiations with the North with a ripped Iran deal and a dead Saddam and Gaddafi (the latter who gave up his WMD programs for a guarantee of safety, among other thing) is not a very strong way to start negotiations

I'm not sure humiliating Tillerson is going to go well for 45's white house. Dude can tell an awful lot of stories, most probably quietly. But he's been around the block and has a ton of solid connections. Paul Ryan would take a meeting, I'd wager, or a quiet phone call, if he hasn't already.

This has been reported to be the case for months now. So, using that as a partial justification for his firing does not surprise me one bit. Maybe the next person will be better at 10-minute powerpoints.
