Elton has been on the trading block for awhile now so by "fillers" he could possibly be included in that trade or shipped somewhere else (the wizards for Arenas/3 TEAM TRADE) ........either way you cant tell me that philly wouldnt want scola over brand. The pros for scola against brand outweigh the cons...IT IS WRITTEN.

If there is a major trade, Brooks or Scola, along with the NY pick, are the most likely centerpieces. That said, I think the greater probability is that Morey will hold onto both players for the rest of the season.

Jeffries is likely traded for his expiring contract, but I don't see the Rockets letting go of Battier that easily, despite his expiring.

Guys like Hayes, Taylor, Budinger, and Hill may be used as deal sweeteners, but not deal makers or breakers.

These are the guys I think are most likely to be traded. However, depending on who the Rockets are getting back, no player except Yao is safe.

I think the Rockets brain thrust is smart enough not to trade Scola.

Depends what direction the club is going in. If we are struggling then Scola, Battier and probably Miller are gone. If we are surging then AB, Shane, Hill and draft picks are going to be used to acquire the missing pieces.

You're forgetting about the probable Jeffries salary dump plus pick plus $3 million to Minnesota (see Bimathug article) to get under the luxury tax threshold, which would take place at the trade deadline after no trade for a talent upgrade is available.

This, unless Brooks explodes in offense or cause someone else, we won't even be in position to warrant trading for a star. I doubt that we'd be able to even land one worth it with the players on this roster.

Jefferies is a given. He can help a contender and is coming off the books at years end. In an ideal world we would send Yao's broken frame out the door, but it dosent work that way. If they are serious in chasing Melo then a combination of Brooks and Martin for Melo and Jr Smith could be on the cards.
