There's the rub. You have to trade contracts as well as players... and the contracts MUST be comparable. Who/what could the Rockets get that would be as valuable at that cost point?

Interesting that Jermaine Taylor is not even an option...

Well the max I could put was 10 options. We have 15 players. So obviously I left 5 players out.

My guess is Scola and Brooks because they've got the most obvious value. Scola's value is extremely high, and as he ages his production will decrease as his salary goes up. I'd sell now.

Brooks has the virtue of big production while still being on a small contract, which lets us either exchange him for another rookie deal or package him with Jeffries for a larger contract. I can envision a Brooks/expirings for high draft pick/bad contract very easily, especially given that teams may want to dump salary when faced with the uncertainty of the new CBA.

Brooks wants his money, so I think he is gone.

Honestly, it's all about whether Les wants to rebuild or not.

Hmm Scola for Marc Gasol/Mayo? I'd totally take that deal...somehow I'm beginning to think our defense is primarily on Scola.

Have you watched the rockets any this season Martin is a must on this team. He brings scoring which is much needed. On the other hand I agree with you on Brooks. This team needs a pass first score second. What we are lacking is a athletic big man and a small forward. I say we get Anthony Randolph and go after iggy. They bring size athleticism, and some much needed new blood to this team. As much as I like bud he will never be a Guy who you can count on to score consistently. Its time for dm to turn this season around. We need a trade or new coach

This "trade Scola" talk is incredibly stupid. I'd consider Scola our only untradable.

either brooks or lowry and/or jeffries. Battier is seen as being to important to the morale of the team and i think moreys still high on buds potential to give up on him so early

281 ppl have voted so far. Of the results, I'd say that Budinger won't be traded, because we can't get value for him. He'll be fine by next year. Lots of players have tough sophomore years. And, there is more chance of Martin being traded than people think, in a trade for a better SG. Not that I think he isn't already pretty decent, as long as we have somebody at PG that plays defense.

I don't think it matters who leaves, as long as we get value. I'd like to see SF much upgraded. And, I'd like to see Yao traded, because of his unreliability, health-wise. Beyond that, any trade that improves us is good.

Assuming we get value, I'd trade him, for two reasons: 1) his value is high. 2) We need to be more defensive-minded.

Trading Budinger at this point would be pretty pointless, equivalent to just cutting him, since we wouldn't get much back at all. Might as well hold on to him until his shooting reverts back to the mean.

    rockets still needs Battier.
The best option is traded with Battier and resign him back.

Unless you start your statement with a preposition you can just say "who will be traded". The only real time you have to use whom is when you are writing a letter, like "to whom it it may concern".

Most likely a developing player will be traded, i.e. a Jordan Hill, PP, Bud... I don't see us trading away a key player or sending Shane out.

I say if you are going to make a trade it sould be.....

    1) trade Scola for Iggy + fillers

    then

    2) trade brooks for Landry

    Lineup:

    Lowry
    Martin
    Iggy
    Landry
    Miller/Yao

I would feel good about this lineup but think a legit Center (healthy and does more than shoot 3's and pass) to become a legit team.

Who will trade, whom will be traded.

If you trade away a "developing player," by themself, you will get somebody back with a fairly small contract, who will probably also be a developing player. I can't see that working for us. OTOH, Hill plus Jeffries could fetch a nice piece.
