I think calling 4 players that are no doubt better then you at basketball trash is very immature and stupid. And why would you want me banned just for having a discussion on trade talks? Trust me I dont want Kidd on the Rockets anyway. :)

and this is a bad trade because we would have no PG left.
Sign me $15M and trade me to Hornets for Chris Paul, please.

I would not be in such a hurry to trade Head. Having a hight percentage 3pts shooter at the end of your bench is kind of a nice luxery to have.

If we absolutely had to trade Head it would have to be for a point guard IMO.

The only point guard I can think of that would be worth Luther that another team might be interested in is Jarret Jack.

Jarrett Jack makes almost identintacle money as Luther, both contracts expire at the end of this year plus Indiana has a surplus of point guards including TJ Ford, Travis Denier and Jamaal Tinsley. They also have a shortage of shooting guards and spot up shooters with rookie Brandon Rush just about the only natural 2 they have on the team.

Jarrett Jack is about the only point guard on any team that makes any sense to both teams.

as much as I like Stevie, we should just cut him. I don't think he'll be as good as he once was. Let's give Luther another shot.

look 3 months ago when we didn't have a 3rd scorer and nothing behind the starters at the 2 spot trading head for something else was important.

But you have to evaluate this team from its current makeup. Head is our most athletic backup at the 2 spot. He can play emergency point guard minutes and can stroke the 3 from bring on the bench for 40 minutes to hitting 3's in the 4th qtr. At this point i see no need to trade him, he brings too much for our 5th guard. How many teams have a guard that barely plays that averaged 10 points a game once and is under 25?

    Head stays for now.

Except they just traded for Jack to be the primary backup to injury prone ford and even play together with him. They wouldn't be giving him up for much. They would rather take Francis and Head and give us Tinsley

The Rockets would never take Tinsley. Tinsley and Artest will very likely never play on the same team again.

You have totally missed the point and haven't added anything to the discussion. How about instead of hating my trade actually add to the discussion and give us your opinion instead of bashing others.

The series against the Jazz exposed Head big time. I think that's what most fans have against him... trying to get over his slump/pathetic performance in the playoffs. He was a solid regular season contributor and even clutch in some situations.

Keep Head as insurance and play him some in the regular season and conserve Barry as much as you can until the playoffs come.

He's a 21% 3 point shooter in the playoffs, including a big 0'fer this past season. I've always been a big Luther Head fan (well, not big, but liked him at least), but his playoff performances are just so bad.

I'm not saying to just trade him for cap space. I believe this is his last year, so maybe there's a trade deadline package with some combination of him, Stevie, Aaron Brooks and draft picks to a team that's looking to dump salary and you get a better PG in return (maybe a Steve Blake - save Portland 1 year of Blakes salary if Bayless is playing well, maybe a Chucky Atkins if Denver is in semi-rebuild and drop salary mode) or something like that.

But at this point it is on Luther to have a good (or for him, great) regular season and not freeze up in the playoffs to warrant being re-signed next year.

In other words, you can't get Jack for Luther. Appropriate. :)

To those who say Luther is a bad playoff performer-- maybe he's just bad against the Utah Jazz? His entire playoff career consist of 13 games vs. the same Utah Jazz team. It's a lot more reasonable to consider this a matter of bad matchups vs. Utah players/scheme than to think of it as somehow Luther magically become worse when the calendar moves into late April.

Head played well in the NCAA tournament; I doubt he's "unclutch".
