I thought it was generally understood that the vBulletin LHutz was BK.

The original LHutz? My money is on Bob Rainey.

I held this secret for 6.5 years. Time to let it out.
Here is part of an email conversation that Brian Kagy and I had on July 26th, 2001:

....... Besides, I've kept your LHutz identity a secret for
this long, I can stay quiet when need be.

LHutz posts I've made. Which, BTW, actually IS all
    of them. :p

Not ALL the LHutz posts? You mean there wasn't an
"original" Hutz that you took over for once he
    disappeared?

    --- "Brian P. Kagy" wrote:

OK, I will admit this knowing full well you can FWD this email to
    anyone you
want. I'm trusting you not to do so.

There was never an "original" Hutz. It's always been me. The confusion
    stems
from the fact that LHutz was first created to mock Tod the Bod. Hutz
    trolled
around the BBS "corroborating" Todd's posts. But, (if you remember),
    Hutz's
posts were *actually* somewhat creative. They actually took time to
    write--
    they were downright clever.

Well, that was *way* too much trouble, so he quickly devolved into the
contrived idiocy you know so well. :) Hutz went from semi-rational but
intentionally obtuse posts to weird adventures and, most notably,
    severe
misspellings. Some people found him annoying, but a LOT really liked
    him. At
least, they liked him at first. After a while, people seemed to get
    sick of
him. I killed him off out of ego, to be honest, because I was sick of
    seeing
people post how bored they were with him.

Eventually, the temptation to bring him back was too much to resist, so
    I
did so. The problem was, when I killed him off, I sorta posted a pretty
nasty diatribe on Hutz's (LOL) Rosie O'Donnell-hosted website, slamming
    the
people who'd grown tired of him.

Whoops. The only way to cover this seemingly incongruous return was to
pretend that we'd kicked the "original" Hutz (we told people it was the
Cincy Kid) and wink-wink, allowed a "new" Hutz (one of us) to take his
place. With time, I figured people would more or less forget about
    Hutz's
origins and just focus on what a goon he was.

The only thing I didn't count on was friggin' IE 5.0. When I first
    brought
Hutz back, I was posting at work. My browser decided to insert
    "BrianKagy"
and my password instead of LHutz's info when I made a DUKE post...

...and to my horror, when I refreshed my browser, there was a new post
    on
the BBS Hangout, titled something like "DUKE DUKE DUKE OF
    RTURN?!!?!?"...

...and the post's author was "BrianKagy".

Oh. My. GOD. I freaked. I deleted it as quick as I could, but not
    before a
    couple people saw it.

Those people have been nice enough to hide DUKE's terrible secret. And
    I
hope you will, too. :) Please don't spread the word.

    BK

Seems that most of you know Brian (or LHutz), very well, judging by the poll results.

EDIT: A ha! So it WAS Kagy. Is he also RyanED then? Why do I ask? After 2 months of silence, RyanED chooses THIS thread as his return to the Hangout? Coincidence? I think not.

I was going to guess BK because, unlike anyone else in the poll, he was just weird enough (in a good way) to pull something like that off. But I thought it was way too obvious. So this is sort of a let-down. But thanks Behad.

I would guess that RyanEd is also Brian Kagy. If this is indeed the case, I hope RyanEd doesn't stop posting just because people figure it out. Frankly, Kagy was one of my favorite posters here and I'll take his posts any way I can get them.

Come back RyanEd!!!  :p  :D ;) :(

Some of the funniest posts EVER put on the internet.

There should be a tribute thread to Hutz.

There was no permission. I asked a few times in a few different post over the years, but got no reply.

I took Clutch's post in this thread as an endorsement that it's ok.
