There's a possibility he could be Boston's head coach, if Bird's group does acquire ownership of the team from Gaston.

Ainge threw the ball at Mario Elie's head at the end of Game 4, '94 playoffs....he was b**** b4 that, and ever the b**** since.....but he may get lucky and be right about us not making the playoffs....the T-pups are playing pretty good ball right now...

Why is everyone getting so upset, we do have the same record against the West as the Clippers. Remember these commentators are commentators not rabid Houston fans, all the have to go by are the numbers and the numbers don't lie and say we suck against the West just as much as the Clips, you work it out if you think we should be highly considered for the playoffs.

This young team will keep growing, but our record against the West will keep us out of the playoffs.

I don't blame them either for counting the Rockets out. Had they won all home games against the West or are at least .500 against the west, they would be the number 1 or 2 seed.

After they lost to Portland at home, I had a feeling of how the Rockets see themselves against the west. It was punctuated even further by losing to the Mavs after leading for most of the game.

Against the west, the Rockets have the talent and skill to dominate just like they do against the east. But it seems like their lack of confidence and a degree of self-doubt against Western teams is what has made then 12-24 against the west.

It's the same mentality we get when our older sibling keeps on beating us up when we were kids. Even though we know we can beat them, we hold back for some reason. The Rockets need to break out of that kind of thinking. For one, they are not kids anymore.

I dunno if it's fortunate or not for the Rockets, but the T-Wolves tend to be pretty streaky. Hopefully they'll get all their wins out of their system now, and then go on an amazing losing streak ;-)

But as long as the Rockets keep up their intensity and keep playing hard & playing to win every game, I'm a happy Rockets fan.

Screw any commentator who has no faith in our beloved Rockets.

Ainge didn't say it to be an a$$ though. They had a little blurb of some Rockets footage and France making a few shots, Mobley too, and then they mentioned something about looking out for the Rockets, they are on the rise.

Ainge simply stated he didn't think we would be therebecause of our Western conference record. He said we dominate the East, but not the West.

    It was just his opinion.

the rockets won't get any respect until they earn it. it would be nice to knock the wolves out of the play-off picture. ESPN has them listed as a "title contender". until we make the play-offs we won't get any respect.

    Dadakota,

I remember. [IMG] It's coming... to me that is! [IMG] I predicted 49-33 in the preseason, and a 7 seed. I still hold to that prediction.

Danny Ainge is a quitter. He tried making it to the Toronto Blue Jays. He played with the Syracuse Skyhawks (AAA of Blue Jays) years ago. He quit. The other commentators on TBS/TNT (John Thompson and Kevin Harlan)were making fun of him. They even showed his pathetic baseball card. He quit basketball early because he 'had to care for his family'. Honestly guys, I have to take a Mike Tyson approach. "I'm going to eat his kids." Gotta love the psychos.

    Hakeem will be back.

Rockets will win this, next, and years to come with or without CWebb.

Are refs' blood-alcohol levels at or above 0.09 during games???

You know the pathetic thing about Danny Ainge is that, of all people HE should know it's not over yet! Wasn't he the same guy that coached an 0-10 team into the 7th spot (should have been the 6th spot) of the playoffs? As long as the Rocks take care of business they're in. Minnesota's schedule is just ridiculously brutal. I wouldn't call 20+ games and a 4 game deficit to little to late. All it takes is a four game Rocks winning streak, and back-to-back losses by the T-Wolves, and the people in Minnesota are sweating bullets. And all it takes is one injury to Garnett that keeps him out even a short time to overtake them. Stranger things have happened!

By the way, I'm going with the Rockets finishing with a 48-34 record and the number 8 seed. Passing up Phoenix is VERY possible, so a 7th seed isn't out of the question at all. The Rockets would have to go 15-6 the rest of the way to get to 48 wins, and if they go 15-6 to close out the season I feel good about a playoff berth! [IMG]

Ainge was just simply a loser! He hates Rockets, because beating the rockets in the playoff was one of his biggest dream that he never had....but not against the Rockets!! [IMG]

    The Cat,

Remember our bet. You will owe my ONE DOLLAR, because the Rockets will not make the playoffs.

Who had the thread at the beginning of the year about final records?

I predicted 45-37, and just out of the playoffs. I still think that is right on the money.

DaDakota: No offense, I respect your posting enormously, but don't you think that's a little pessimistic? We're 3 games out right now. A 4 game winning streak by us and a 3 game losing streak by Phoenix, and we're tied. That's not really that unlikely. Sure, I'd concur and say the odds are against the Rockets. I mean, I think they're probably AS GOOD as Minnesota and Phoenix, and all things being equal, have to make up 3 games.

I'd give us a 30% chance. Hardly enough for any woeful predictions quite yet :p.

Hate to say it, but Ainge took ver the Suns when they started 0-13 and managed to give them a 6th or 7th seed. Don't get me wrong, I hate that turd, but both Ainge and Cotton Fitz, or whatever his name is, are quitters.

By the way, Kenny Smith is 36 today.

I didn't know he was that young. He retired real early. He should come out of retirement, although his journalistic skills are phenomenol.

    Oh, and Barkley weighs 307lbs.

Get down to 365 and he'll come back.

How about Wallace gettin thrown out, again!!! 6th time.

Steve Javie, what a jackass(If you don't remember, Javie threw out Barkley and Drexler within 20 secs. of each other back in '97 or '98. Barkley got called for a 'foul' and Drexler was tryin to help. Javie turned around, and his nose caught Drexler's index finger. It was an accident, but of course, Javie did what he's good at, calling pathetic technicals).
