I'm glad to see the Carmelo Anthony Nuggets beat two teams in the playoffs. They deserve a medal for that.
Some of the cool Tracy moments. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZxiKaYguPUI?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZxiKaYguPUI?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
McGrady was better back then than Melo now, yes, but you can't really say oh just because T-Mac was really good back then and didn't pan out here after the first few years, the same will happen to Melo.
We would rape so hard with this squad plus 2004 McGrady, not saying we wouldn't with 2010 Melo Just slightly harder with 2004 Mac
Wasn't 2005/06 the year when McGrady was most injured and the team missed the playoffs? Are you talking 04/05? He was pretty decent then. Better than 03/04 when he won 20 games.
This poll doesn't even make sense. No doubt TMac but only thing he lacked was work ethic and his care for the game. And he even played somewhat better defense lol
I would say mcgrady, Mcgrady's game was so smooth, on some night he looked like the best player in the league.
Tmac, easily. It's so sad only 5years, a player like Tmac can fake like this... but back then, he was simply one of few players who can win a game by himself, example by dallas serise game2. For melo, not yet.
A lot of people act dumb when it comes to how good T-Mac really was *COUGH CARL HERRERA COUGH*. We all know which seasons he played well, which seasons he was injured, and which seasons he was simply the best player to ever touch a basketball. McGrady did things I've never seen Jordan do...awaits T-Mac knock.
It's Mcgrady and its not even close. Look at the supportig cast also, that tells a lot. Mcgrady was just the better player. Its just sad to see him fall so far..
Interesting poll results. So, with that in mind, would you rather gamble on a 2010 McGrady at the minimum and not giving up anything else on our current squad or would you rather give up all our assets for the current Melo? (I still believe McGrady has something left.)
I don't think that is the alternative we are looking at. Asking that question is like asking whether you would prefer Iverson at the minimum or Iguodala. McGrady will never play for the Rockets again, so I think your question is moot.
Tmac will be alot better this season then the last simply because the knee will have had enough time to recover and be pain free. It was only after 9 months that he was playing on it again and it was a mistake. It was more like rehab then anything. It took Amare almost 2 years to become Amare again after the surgery and he was 24 at the time.UI think McGrady will suprise alot of folks thuis season who think he is done.
Melo has had AI, Billups, Nene, Jr Smith, Birdman, Kmart, on his teams and got the WCF once. Tmac had (part time yao due to injuries), mike james, david wesley, bob sura, juwon howard, during his era. The very last complete healthy year was the 22 game win streak year when we had landry and scola but then Yao went out for the rest of the year. Too much blame on McGrady for not getting out of the 1st round. I blame him for his big mouth and not living up to expectations upon getting injured but there was nothing else he could have done for us prior to this. GUy played his heart out and pure plain and simple, the rockets did not have a good enough roster the years he was here to beat the jazz or mavericks.
t-mac in 04-05 was the most skilled player i've ever seen, better than lebron, durant, and kobe, but the thing was he was a ball stopper and you can't win in the playoffs with only one guy.
you can play better without winning the game. tmac was never good at winning games... he likes to put numbers to get sponsors... period.
