if i am a big man that can stretch the floor, i'd love to play with Harden. But, if you're also expected to be a good post defender, i don't want to play with Harden since he will let his man go by without contest against me and make me look bad and then Harden will yell at me as if it's my fault.
Houston is a top 5 destination... We are in the top 5 for Al Horford. Too bad there aren't 5 Al Horfords to go around. Otherwise, we might actually land 1 of the 5 Al Horfords.
Lamarcus would have been great with harden in stretching the floor. I believe he takes too much time off the clock with his post/spot up game for the way were going to play, and the way SA plays. With early McHale/Slower team Lamarcus would have been great.
After watching D12 get frozen out by Harden and mgmt for the latter half of the season... I can't imagine any low post player with offensive skills wanting to play here... We need to target defensive bigs... Guys who like to bang down low, grab boards and play d - who don't want to get exposed for their offensive shortcomings.... Good ballhandlers? nope, not gonna happen... Harden controls the ball... now spot up shooters with perhaps limited abilities to slash - those should be our targets...
Apparently no "star" does. Can't really blame them tho. You can't tell me Horfird didn't look at the last 3 years of Dwight's numbers steadily dropping AND not be concerned?? Horford is gonna want touches!!!
Idiot Morey was out chasing the wrong "star" he went after a skilled big who actually wants the ball and plays called for him WHEN he should of been chasing a guy like Whiteside. A guy who knows he is only getting "put backs" and "lobs"
Exactly. Howard said he wanted to play with Harden. If people don't believe your Superstar player is the main attraction, then woe is he or she. We witnessed that with Kobe in his last 5 or so years. Unfortunately Harden has built up a bad reputation. Morey has built a bad reputation as well.
Wouldn't be surprised if Howard talked to Bazemore about Harden and helped make his decision to stay easier for less money.
this isn't a very compelling argument when we offered more money to bazemore and he reups. there are other factors involved here beyond just $$. these are jobs as well, when you get essentially an equal job offer, you look at other factors, lifestyle, culture, chance of winning, your role, who your team members are, who your boss is, etc. etc. that is too obvious to ignore here. we are hurt, because we are fans. we all want our team to improve. when things don't go well, well we b****. why is that hard to understand or why is it that we can't complain? that's all we have in our power to do - the ppl in control can listen or not, but at least we voice our opinions.
Maybe the rockets need to stop putting all their eggs into free agency because we're not the most appealing team... Morey needs to understand that he got pretty lucky signing Dwight. After signing Dwight, him and the organization all of a sudden believes everyone wants to sign here. Instead of trying to beg players to come, the Rockets needs to be more aggressive at trades and drafts. Morey never focused on the big picture. It's all about signing big names. Instead of that, the rockets should have focused on a system that would be more efficient. Put more effort into finding better coaches. Chasing big names in FA is fine but if that's their only plan then they're in trouble. The rockets never draft well in the first round. It's time he understands this team no longer can compete so maybe it's time to unload and rebuild with young talent.
Yeah unfortunalty it's gone hand in hand. But anyone who doesn't really think any of this has anything to do with JH is mistaken. 1 year drastically changed his image towards everyone across the league. At the end of the year he called for improvement in the roster. At the moment that request looks very unlikely with the players remaining and the huge gap at the 5 spot. Barring some significant trade move, the next two years harden has left don't look to appealing and him leaving is very much a possibility
this board is unbearable. if we didn't have so many homers on this board, they would see even despite us having harden, the other team situations are either just as good or better. harden is not the problem. everyone else we ***** have is the problem. and everyone has money.
I'd imagine quite a few players want to play with Harden. Our problem is that it doesn't seem may players want to play with the Houston Rockets.
