    seriously, wtf?

4 guys, 1 award. 2 hours. The math does NOT add up. 30 minutes, max. 5 minutes of fluff for each player, 5 minutes or so of commercials. 5 minutes to hand out the award. bam. done.

The Heisman Trophy is a f'ing joke. I didn't want to believe it. Detmer, Torretta, Wuerffel, Crouch, Ware, White, absolutely pitiful.

White will be pouring concrete in OK in less than 3 years.

    2004 - OU
    2005 - NFL Europe
2006 - White and Son Construction Co.

Fitzgerald will be catching TD's on Sunday for a long time.

So the Heisman trophy is for the best pro prospect now?

And if Nate Hybl is in the NFL, Jason White sure as hell will be.

Very weak. A player's prospect as a valuable commodity in the NFL has nothing whatsoever to do with the Heisman.

Congrats to White. I voted for Fitzgerald, but I can't say anything negative about White's season. It was simply spectacular (save for the one loss)

I didn't know Hybl had torn his ACL on both knees.

It's funny how the majority of Heisman winners turned out to be great/good pro players until recently. Lets run through winners from the last two decades.

    The 80's:

    1981 - Marcus Allen
    1982 - Herschel Walker
    1983 - Mike Rozier
    1984 - Doug Flutie
    1985 - Bo Jackson
    1986 - Vinny Testaverde
    1987 - Tim Brown
    1988 - Barry Sanders

    The 90's:

    1995 - Eddie George
    1997 - Charles Woodson
    1998 - Ricky Williams

Over half the votes were cast before the last games were played:rolleyes:

Just goes to show the level of thought put into most of these awards--although much congrats to the post starter for keeping an open mind until the end.

Reminds me of Karl Malone's MVP in 1999. TD's team finished better, TD had better stats and he was clearly the best and most valuable player that year--but the award went to Karl Malone because most of the idiots had mailed in their votes 2 weeks before the season ended and before TD charged his team ahead of the Jazz.

I honestly don't believe White is one of the 5 best college football players. W/o a doubt OU would have gone at least 11-1 with Rivers, Manning, or Leinart at the helm, maybe others too. Who knows, Rivers or Manning might have gone 12-0. Last weekend White wasn't even the best QB on the field that day--no Heisman should be upstaged by another at his position--Heisman's should be special players not just good players with great stats on great teams.

White, Ware, Wuefful, Torreta--what a tradition the Heisman has become.

Yes. I'd like to thank everyone for voting (again) and when you see the numbers, remember, just like in Florida, your vote does count! You want the proof?

Next year, I'll do the same thing, start the poll around Thanksgiving time and let the public decide!

Thanks for giving us a say and thanks for waiting until all games were played. I heard of those who sent their ballots in after all games were played Fitzgerald won. It should also have been obvious after the last game Sproals deserved to be at that show and get a whole lot more votes than he did.

I think those media who mail their vote in for these things before the season has ended who get their votes revoked. It does bother me how sloppy and uncritical so many voters of these things are.

    Chris Weinke, anyone?

BTW, Jason Geathers was the best WR on the field in the Pitt-Miami game. Had about 3 times the yards Fitzgerald had.
