Ron is like a bulldog with a bomb ticking inside his head. Yeah, he is talented, but a "dog" is only nice if he could be control..

Just heard David Aldridge say that Rockets are quietly trying to acquire Artest, but Sac-town wants Brooks and the Rockets are very reluctant.

I'd be reluctant too. Brooks is going to become a really good PG one day, despite his size.

I'd probably rather give up Landry (!) before Brooks.

considering how weak we are at the point, giving up brooks isn't an option.

Any trade for Artest would just be a half-season rental. How much is that really worth?

if artest goes to rockets, im buying that jersey the minute i get on my computer. Artest bringing half his potential will make the Rockets that much better. Jesus christ...if rocks manage to get artest without losing battier, scola, yao, mac and bonzi and then acquire a pure pg in the offseason...it's a dynasty ! sorry for my homerism post haha. excited. at the very least, lets hope we can get artest

Artest can ruin a whole season by one of his crazy fits. We don't have time to waste with a team clicking right now.

I'm with the Nay for Ron Artest gang.

It's not about how good he is, but essentially, he'll be a half-season rental. It'll be great if within that time frame we can win a championship, but really, how likely is that?

After that? Does anybody seriously trust him to re-sign for us? This is a guy who wanted to be top dog when he decided to choose Sacto over Indy. He thinks he's Tmac back when Tmac was schooling guys left and right and Artest was just a "defensive stopper".

His attitude worries me. Artest is a ticking time bomb. Everywhere he went, there's been issues. He might not have gone off by jumping into the stands at Sacto, but I don't see him as a reliable player.

The only way I want him on the team is if we can get him for our spare parts. I wouldn't touch our 2 rookies nor our 5 starters.

Bonzi and Artest reunited. Well, that means Scola and PF, Yao at Center, Artest at SF, T-Mac SG, Rafer PG.

Hmmm I think they gotta be looking at Hayes in this trade for Artest because of the defensive presence that Artest brought. If we keep Hayes, he'll never see playing time behind Artest/Scola/Landry

I think this trade includes James/Brooks/Hayes

I think Miller stretches the d better and is more of a spot up shooter. Artest needs to dominate the ball to score. We already have TMac and Yao that need the ball.

At first, I was thinking, trade for Artest or Miller. But then the cost is high for a 1/2 year rental while Miller is another shooter.

Artest looked tough when he played the Rockets but if one of the great rookie class needs to be traded then it's not worth it. Laundry is looking like a monster and is the energizer bunny off the bench. Brooks is the PG in waiting and is the future PG. Their play saved this season and they are rookies. It would be terrible to see them start for another them while Artest plays for another team also next season.

I don't think Morey will pull the trigger on the trade if Brooks is included. And Battier is way more important to this team than most here realize. He doesn't shoot because he's a team player. His job description calls for strong defense, and good 3pt shooting. He's getting back to that level now.

I voted yes, but it depends on the cost.

For what its worth, I had a conversation with Don Chaney at Fox Sports earlier tonight (was watching the game there) and I asked him if he has heard anything about the rox making a move before the trading deadline and he adamantly told me that they absolutely are not planning a move because the organization currently "loves" the existing chemistry and they don't want to take a chance on messing that up. He said I could quote him on this, that the rox will not be making a move. Thought I'd share, not sure how much "insider" info he has at this point, but I figure he knows more than most of us.
