i think mike miller would be a better fit if we're planning on keeping battier...

    however...

i love the idea of ron guarding dirk in the playoffs!

The negatives of getting Ron Ron:

    1. He can still opt out after we trade for him.

It's imperative that we don't trade any of our rotation players. Maybe we can entice the Kings to get Mike James who is signed for a couple of more years and be a solid contributor for them, and maybe an expiring like Kirk Snyder. They did trade away Mike Bibby so they'll need another guard, we can tell them James just got caught up in the numbers game here (his numbers sucked).

And if you guys really think Adelman and TMac will approve of trading away Battier, then you really don't follow the Rockets.

    2. He is an ISO one on one player.

I've watched him play and the guy simply does not adhere to any offensive system. He'll take the ball and dominate it, only will pass if he gets double teamed or can't get a shot off.

    3. The guy is deranged.

He is more crazy then Vernon Maxwell, Kirk Snyder, and Dennis Rodman combined. You never know when he'll pop off and we don't have an authority figure in our team that he'll respect and back down to. When Rodman came to the Bulls, Jordan and Pippen kept him under control. Here, Artest will prolly ignore Battier and TMac, you know he'll ignore Yao. Deke can't control him from the bench.

    4. The Maloofs won't help Adelman.

This is all a moot point if the Maloofs refuse to talk to us because they still hold a grudge against Adelman.

I'd do it in a heartbeat but I wouldn't want to give up scola or brooks I would rather do something along the lines of battier, snyder and some change

I had a dream last night we traded Scola, Snyder, and Francis for Artest. It was weird.

I always like guys who can penetrate and finish more than shooters. Artest would bring toughness, defense and some scoring but he would need Tracy to set him up regularly so he can score. Artest isn't very good without a true PG because he can't create his own shot IMO.I admit that we have a lot of inconsistent shooters, and aren't likely to get Mike Miller or even a Kapono.
We are in a tough spot with no easy solutions.

I'd rather have Mike Miller because we need that scoring punch. Ron Artest is very streaky, even more so than Tracy McGrady. If you really think he's what we need, watch Kings games (if you can, of course). He becomes r****ded in games sometimes. Beating his chest, taunting fans, picking up r****ded technicals, and then his play obviously goes downhill.

Mike Miller and T-Mac are friends, instant chemistry, if we don't need to give up any big pieces to get him, we should go for him. Ron Artest can be INSANELY good, but the question is "Is it worth the risk?".

The risk is that he will lose the game with bad shots (he took a lot of bad shots against us, they just went in, they don't always do that). He always takes those shots, though. He doesn't care about involving his teammates, so if he's cold, it's going to hurt the team.

Mike Miller will spread the floor, and if he switches with Battier, it's a defense/offense switch and if he switches with T-Mac, it's to spell his offense. Any shot is a good shot for Mike Miller, if he makes it. :D

Either one is a pipe dream as it is, so we might as well wonder if we want Billups or Chris Paul. :(

Only if he came cheap. Brooks, Bonzi, and filler is all I'd give up.

Artest can't create his own shot?

Did you watch the last game?

Artest has the ability to create his own shot. His problem is that he forgets about the rest of his team at times.

Artest is cheap, but only for now. He can opt out next season and he wants a big contract.

I would not give up Scola for Artest, it'll just creat another hole, though I'd give up Battier without a second thought.

Artest bring everything this team lacks: desire, fire, flare, anger, passion, hard work, physical play, craziness, etc. :D

Whats the love affair with Ron Artest? The guy is unreliable. You dont know if he'll be suspended. You cant control him. I'd rather have Miller

We need an artest caliber on the team. We need his strength and explosiveness on the court. If only bonzi could be our artest. They have simillarities but artest is much stronger and competitive. I would not argue with tmac vs artest but artest is no way better than artest when tmac is healthy.

We were a force at the end of the 1st half of the season and for sure we will continue dominating on the 2nd half of the season
