We took them to 6 games without Howard last season. Of course we COULD beat them. I'm not sure about WOULD though.

No. We couldn't beat them without RW. How are we going to do it with him?

What's with all these super optimistic threads all of a sudden? We lose a few games, we can't make the playoffs. We win a few games, we're champions for sure. Chill out man. We are who we are. We are who we thought we'd be before the start of the season.

This team's defense is not good enough to compete against the elites. Our offense is just now getting there by centering around Dwight but the defense goes through to many lapses. Our perimeter D is atrocious without Beverly. Last night we saw why Beverly starts.

Yes if we played a seven game series. Starting today we take that in six. They would have no Westbrook. And in a seven game series Kevin Durant is not outscoring us. We have to many weapons. We could find a way to slow him down and shut down the second and third option scorers.

This is how I feel about the Rox at the moment as well. I'm still very concerned about this team's defense which is essential in the playoffs. They can't expect to go out and try and run and gun their way through the playoffs especially against elite teams. The Rox still have a lot of issues they need to tighten up before we start giving them a legitimate chance against elite teams.

The rockets are a team that is still learning how to win, and the players are still learning how to play with each other. Morey still has some building to do.

I think the Rockets are the underdog in a series with OKC, with or without Westbrook in the lineup.

People place to much importance on last nights game. Anytime you face a team who has a player hit seven straight threes in the third quarter the game will be a difficult one. And yes the Rockets could beat OKC in a seven game series. Right now my gut feeling is that they would win about 40% of the time. Not great odds, but it certainly is possible for the Rockets.

If the Rockets couldn't beat OKC in a series without Westbrook after adding Howard, then someone (either in the FO or on the court) really messed up.

From the games I have seen of OKC, their defense is what makes them win. Their offense is ok and when they need to score, they go iso a lot. Our chances of beating them on a 7 games series is a lot better than last years (with or w/o Westbrook).

I hope we can somehow avoid OKC in the playoffs. It is hard to imagine beating them if healthy (and by healthy, I mostly mean a healthy Durant & Ibaka).

If I were rating teams I'm most afraid of facing it would be:

    1)OKC
    2)Clippers
    3)Indiana
    4)Heat

Everybody else, I feel like we'd be the favorite. I know people will disagree over the Clippers, but watching them rape our defense earlier this season, they scare me a lot.

    No.

OKC is a bad matchup and has superior talent.

I also don't trust Jones or D-Mo to consistently hit 3s when teams clog the lane and I suspect most teams will do just that in the playoffs whenever those two are in the game.

I still believe in order for the Rockets to get past the Thunder they will need to play solid D for every game and not take a game off. Asik would help in the cause but I don't know IF he is all in. Also, IF a trade is made then what effect will that have on the team?

Lots of "its", but if everything went right for us then maybe so... if Asik shows up, if Garcia plays like he did last year against the Thunder, if Durant gets injured for the season... those kinds of things.

We really don't have anyone who can really bother Durant at all right now - I'm not even talking about a stopper - no one will stop him, but we need a long athletic wing to make it much harder for him to have any chance.

If Westbrook comes back I don't think we can do it.

If it's just Durant I don't think he can sustain his freakish play over 7 games. In effect, as much as I love the Thunder (2nd fav team way behind the Rockets), I think our quickly maturing team can handle a one superstar team.

I think the Thunder are good but if we can slow down Durant I don't think they have a plan b. IMHO

Depends on three shooting. We definitely could win a series vs okc though. Clippers not so much.
