He has a name, if you're gonna criticize him about the unnecessaryness of this thread you should call him by it. JK. Carl, I would like to throw mad props in your general direction.
I think it's hilarious. I planned on posting the same thread, title and all, just to see how many I could get to bite. Landry and Yao for Kwame Brown?? LOL
im shocked that this thread has lasted this long. honestly, what a lame attempt to defend yao against a small minority who think the team is better w/o yao slowing down the pace. realistically, no one is thinking of getting rid of yao because we continue to win w/o him, and there is no reason for a lame, semi-sarcastic thread about landry. the rockets missed both of them dearly against the hawks and will certainly continue to do so tonight against an equally big/athletic bobcat team.
Cool. A very factual and sarcastic comeback at the dumb "we're better without Yao" thread. In response to your accurate opinion langal, we're so much better without Landry as evidenced by the FACTS that we are keeping winning without this loser, more so, we made NEW NBA winning streak record without him playing. With Landry, no new NBA record. Without Landry, new NBA record. Landry must suck. See, how smart I am! Landry disrupts the Rockets game because his lack of size and gator arms destroyed our front court defense, he operates down low like Yao for dunks which clogs up our driving lane, his 65% FT shooting sucks and his massive forehead blocks our players view for rebounds. His good stats, like Yao's, are all from stats padding. The scoring and rebounding numbers have no real impact on the game. It only takes away shots and rebounds from our other players. Landry should only be doing jersey laundry! So in essense I agree with your proposal sir. Let us trade Yao and Landry for Kwame Brown, throw in Shawn Bradley so T-Mac has a horse to ride. We must get it done in order to advance deep into the playoffs and break all kinds of new NBA records.
If anybody thinks this team is better without Carl Landry, they should be banned from Clutchfans. No joke.
If you get mad at the OP for this thread, you are obviously a bit too sensative to sarcasm. Wonder how many who hated this thread were actually supporting the same threads with Yao or T-Mac in the name. No, I'm not going to research it. Nobody can make a credible argument that a team is better when one of their top rotation guys goes down. Great thread.
hmm.. this begs the question... who are better without, if anyone. don't say steve francise, cuz he doesn't get playing time.
Yao hater, you have not answered my questions in a factual logical manner. Maybe you find the guts to do it this time? What specifically changed about our style of play, our defense, and our energy that make us better? Give me the specific measureables, as many as you can think of, including the wins and loses, if you want. Make your strong indisputable case ... please, I beg ya.
In a straight up subtraction, nobody. But I think the team is better with Jackson than Bonzi. Not quite the same argument.
Well, having not read the Yao thread in a while, I am going to guess the ppg scored and ppg allowed are the big ones. Throw in a rebounding margin that is still favoring the Rockets, and a team FT percentage(well, maybe lower because of the last 2 games) that was higher after Yao left and those are pretty measurable. I think Adelman was just able to make a different gameplan using the guys we have. Thats why we have been as effective. Not necessarily because Yao is not there.
Well, you were just guessing, and guesses are pretty disputable. To shut everyone up, you need to give hard evidence. BTW, you just sorta admitted that you are a Yao hater. But that's ok. We will still trust your hard evidence supported by indisputable numbers.
good call! the thread starter just wants to show how stupid the thread "who thinks this team is better w/o Yao" is, and as well Desert_Rocket is.
Lame attempt dude. You stole my idea. I have always been the one driving the "trade Yao for Kwame Brown" bandwagon. You owe me royalties for stealing my idea!!! But in hindsight, I think you got something right... the Grizzlies will not be satisfied with merely Yao. They do not want a player that makes his team worse, that clogs up the lane, that is defensively deficient. that is unatheletic, that is soft, that is not clutch, that hinders his other teammates and that is hated by his own fans. No wonder you suggested throwing in Carl Landry as well. Good call old chap! Maybe now, the Grizzlies will entertain the idea of the trade seriously.
