I hope he give us a big surprise and come back to his prime, shining on the court... OK,I know it's impossible,so i voted NO. But i still love this guy,I wish he have a nice memory in this team.
NBA players with Patellar Tendon Knee Surgery Joel Przybilla -recovered Antonio McDyess - recovered but not quite as explosive after surgery Alonzo Mourning - at 37 years old has called it a day Dwayne Wade - recovered Damon Stoudamire - recovered and yes he still sucks Matt Harpring - recovered Nenad Krstic - recovered So there is hope but it's a long road back. Hopefully Stevie-O will put in the work and da Wink will be back.
of the players you named, only 3 were "dependent" in their athleticism b4 surgery: dyess, zo and dwade. dyess returned and is a valuable bigman, but an absolute SHELL of the allstar he once was. ditto for zo. dwade recovered, but hasn't been played enough since then to make any value judgement on his recovery. my guess? he'll be fine as he is young enough to bounce back and smart enough to make changes in his game. steve francis is neither young enough to bounce back at even 75% (imo) nor smart/humble enough as a floor general to alter his game and STILL BE EFFECTIVE with physical limitations. the best thing we can do is trade his contract (exp) with bjax, et al. he is (and i'm glad) DONE. if he is in our rotation next year, we are in trouble. serious trouble.
Realtiy is Stevie Francis will not come blose to even becoming a solid back-up. At best he will be a guard who cna provide some energy off the bench/
That's all we can ask for. If he gives us more than that great. I just hope he can play the Ginobili or Barbosa role well for us.
I really hope Stevie can play. I don't think he will... BUT remember this dunk?! Maybe he still has it? <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SlZA4vrUmWE&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SlZA4vrUmWE&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> As for Novak... if that guy learns how to guard a statue, he should see more minutes. His 3 point shot really spreads the floor.
i will say this, in the memphis pre season game he showed exactly what this team needed. he gets to the rim, and if you didn't see how valuable that was while they were getting punked shooting jumpshots all night against utah in the playoffs, well you just ain't watching
Once you get old, fat, injured and have plenty of money in the bank, the will to work yourself back into NBA shape is virtually unattainable. -old,fat and injured-
If Steve can get in shape, he can be a force.....honestly it is all about Steve...and whether he is dedicated... That dunk shows he can still get up.....when he wants to. DD
??? Dream, Drexler, Maxwell, Tmac, Yao, Sura, and even friggin Jon Barry aren't coming to mind as "most exciting rocket of all time"????
I would go with Dream......and there were many exciting Rockets players throughout history.... Calvin Murhpy Bill Willoughby Lew Lloyd Clyde Drexler John Lucas Ralph Sampson Billy Paultz DD
Billy Paultz? exciting? the most excited I ever got watching that slug was when Hakeem popped him in his eye during the play-offs one year. That was great!
Besides injury, what ever happened to Stevie?? He was still a star after we traded him to Orlando, but then his skills just quickly diminished.
