Francis looked washed up last season because he is injured real bad. Even when he is injured, he showed flashes of his ability in the phoenix game.
If he is healthy, I think he should be better than Head and most probably better Brooks too (depending on AB's improvement, if he played like last season, he is not much better than Francis).

yeah that comment from T-Mac about Francis losing a step was true. Course losing a step meant not being able to cut, Loss of explosiveness and a bit slow to the ball. All because of that ruptured tendon in his leg.

Only someone who's been locked in a time warp for the last 4 years.

I hope he can crack the rotation. We'll need some scoring with McGrady on another team next season. :)

Since the Rockets had so much of their success last season without him, I doubt it very much that he would be in their plans next season.

I would say that if they just can't get something good in return for him via trade, then they may just simply buy out the final year of his contract.

of course francis won't be part of the rotation.

t-mac will make sure adelman sits francis in his special chair every game. and if he does enter the game, t-mac will ice him out until his buddy Rafer gets back in. :D

in all seriousness, i think francis will play even less than he did last season. i don't see him coming back from this injury just like bobby sura didn't come back.

Rafer Alston and Mike James played surprisingly well in their contract years...and I don't see why Steve Francis won't.

Hate it when players slack off after getting a meaty contract...

    because he's:

    1) coming off of knee surgery
    2) played poorly the last few years
    3) never been a good 2 guard
    4) not capaable of running adelman's offense

    need more reasons?

    5) in the twilight of his career where athleticism declines
    6) never relied on his bball iq to succeed

I think that might have been tongue in cheek.

A 75% recovered Francis is still better than Brooks/Head/BJax and even possibly Alston.

I disagree, Alston is MUCH better than Francis and Jackson and Brooks can run the point better than Steve

Luther can't play point but was given minutes at the 2, now if Steve gets time next season I am pretty sure it will be at the backup 2.

I also think the Rockets would be wise to try and sign Brent Barry I was convined if we had a healthy Yao and a guy like Barry we win the title.

    Alston/Jackson/Brooks
    T-Mac/Barry/Francis
    Battier/Novak
    Scola/Landry
    Yao/Deke

    25th pick (I hope a young center)
    Hayes
and fill in the blank Harris/Woods/second rounder/player we have in Europe

    get rid of Luther Thursday

You people have all lost your marbles. Steve Francis is done. He will never play meaningful minutes in the NBA ever again.

And the sooner people here realize it, the sooner we can finally move on. He is DONE.

    Seriously, it's not 2004 anymore...
