    Alston
    Brooks
    BJax
    McGrady
    Head
    Battier
    Scola
    Landry
    Yao
    Mutumbo
    Hayes
    25th Pick in draft

    2nd round pick in draft
    Francis
    Harris

Who do you knock off the 12 man squad? Maybe Head but I saw no indication that Adelman was favoring Francis over Head. The only reason they will keep Francis on the 15 man squad is to bundle his expiring contract with others at the trade deadline to pick up a real player.

Stevie is done. Give it up!!!!

I"m not looking for anything from Stevie but a few minutes in the second half of the season. Ruptured Patellar Tendon requires months to heal.

    Treatment & Rehabilitation

In most cases the patellar tendon becomes completely ruptured across its width and thus surgical intervention is required to repair the damage. This involves suturing (stitching) the torn tendon.

Following surgery the patient will be advised on a specific rehabilitation plan which normally involves little or no weight-bearing on the affected knee and wearing a knee brace to prevent the knee from bending. This may be required for more than 6 weeks.

Once the knee brace has been removed exercises to regain full range of movement and build up the strength of the quadriceps muscle group should be carried out.

Rehabilitation from a patellar tendon rupture is extremely slow and it may take between 6 and 12 months before the patient is able to return to sports.

On a more ominious note: I found this regarding T-Mac

    Opinion: McGrady's on-court reputation in tatters Jan 19, 2008
Plus, if the Mayo Clinic web site is to be believed, McGradys other left-knee injuries a bone bruise and patellar tendinitis ("jumpers knee") can take months to heal. As McGrady misses more time, the whispers grow louder that the Rockets are better off without him, which their record shows they are 13-15 with McGrady (including a 7-14 stretch), 7-4 without. Yeah, I think at the beginning of the season, he will not be fully recovered. I look for him to perhaps break into the rotation near the All-Star break when his body has had enough time to heal.

I'd love 4 someone to tell me what maes them think steve francis is capable of running rick adelman's offense? for that matter, any successful offense?

is this just some ridiculous desire to see some "grit and heart" oon the court? if so, I understand, but keep in mind that it will be at he expense of brains, decision making, passing ability, catch-and-shoot ability, and defense. that's just off the top of my head.

turn the page, people. steve was NEVER A GOOD POINT GUARD. he had fire, yes, but no clue how to bridle it, direct it, channel it. at best - AT BEST - i could see him not rocking the boat while playing in a contract year (although I doubt it, since this is probably his last multi-year deal coming, imo). maybe he'll be a replacement to luther head. after all, luther's last memory is that of a utah milk carton. I tend to think we need someone better than that. better than luther who is, imo, better than steve.

True. I could see him as a backup PG/SG,but I agree running any offense is going to be very hard for him.

I hope he does, but he won't. His game was predicated on athleticism which he no longer has and I can't see him taking a back seat to others.

    He thinks he can.

Francis: I am confident that I can return to the court have the ability to regain play.

It is he that picked Yao Ming for the 2002 draft. He who accompanied his "rookie" Yao on his road to the NBA. Francis, once the boss of the Rockets who now has been sidelined through injury and pain.

This morning, before the Cleveland game on February 8th, Francis accepted the face-to-face interview with this reporter.

"Fu Laoda" the most repeated word from Steve. "I can come back".

Yao also told the reporters with a heavy face, "he basically nearly broke a tendon. Leaving like this is a big loss for our team, and with Francis I am more sentimental."

    Reporter: How do you feel?

    Francis:

"Of course, I am very disappointed. I originally thought that by returning to Houston, that this season we can achieve even greater success. You see, we have such good players, and coaches. My morale was very high.

Reporter: Now you know, your injuries can be cured by the surgery.

Francis: Of course, as long as the operation is successful, All along, I wanted to be giving 100 percent effort to play. My teammates were all giving 100 percent effort, Only I can not (sigh). I can only say that injuries are part of sports, each athlete can be expected to encounter such experiences.

Question: How long have you had the the injury problem?

Francis: My knee has been injured over the years, but I have never thought that one day I would have to give up because of injuries from playing. Only in recent months did I suddenly realize the seriousness of the problem.

Question: How long do you need in order to return to the team to participate in training and competitions?

Francis: I can say this is not for me to say. A doctor said, perhaps to three months, perhaps four to five months.

Reporter: Is it can be said that every athlete in the downside his career has to fight against injuries.

Francis: No, I do not think it has to be that way, but I can't prevent injuries from occurring. This season, I always thought that, I would have the opportunity to prove myself again. Last season, I was also bothered by this injury. It's unfortunate but if you look at my last season of stats, you will find that I often can still put up 24 and 25 points, So I am confident that I will be able to return to the court and contribute.

Reporter: Some people say that Francis can no longer reach your original peak performance. How do you see it?

Francis: If you every game, you only have 10 minutes of opportunity, and for the entire season you only play 7 or 8 games, then naturally people will say that. Just give me the opportunity and as long as I am healthy then next season I will certainly be able to get back to my original self.

Reporter: What did your teammates tell you?

Francis: The owner, coaches and teammates are all said to me: Steve, we hearts are completely behind you. We will be waiting for you to come back. I will definitely come back.
