Rockets have been playing a LOT more pick and roll lately. Soooooo....

Start Dwight and D-Mo. D12 PnR. D-Mo post against their weaker defender as someone said above.

Bench: Jones at 5 and Smith at 4. Terrence has earned a starting spot, but we need rebounding from the bench unit, and he's the best candidate by far. D-Mo, despite his height is too light to rebound aggressively. Jones and Smith both get a lot of blocks as well, which should help with the bench D. Smith, used properly as a great passer, could maybe find opportunities to feed an open Jones for dunks. Terrence goes to the rim harder than any of the rest of them.

In summary, have your best defender, rebounder, and best pick-and-roll option in the starting unit. Have your weaker defender and best post player starting as an offensive complement. Have your shorter but bulkier and tougher guys anchor the second unit, with Smith specializing in defense and passing and Jones driving to rim, and doing the dirty work around it rebounds and putbacks. With us not wanting to throw Dwight out there for long minutes, this, to me, gives the fewest gaps at any time with the bigs, who should all get decent minutes this way.

What sucks is unless Dmo starts, he'll continue to play out of position as backup Center with most of his minutes. His post up offense and defense have both suffered because of this. But unfortunately, I think it'll stay like that as neither TJ or Smith can really play the 5. The only hope is Dmo can abuse back up 5s. Dmo / Smith / brew / Terrry are a great set to come off the bench.

DMo has not been playing good D lately. It's frustrating because the first time Dwight went down this year DMo played fantastic positional defense and was scoring at will. At least he's shooting better, but IMO the better defenders must be playing more minutes. The bulk of the scoring will not be coming from our role players.

I believe this is because he's mostly playing the 5 now with TJ starting in place of Dorsey. He's had to go against the Gasols, Drummond, D. Jordan etc. They pretty much can rebound over him easily, and he also can't leave them for help defense, so he's always late etc.
