CDR might have been a better pick then Dorsey. I did like Chalmers, mostly from the defensive standpoint. Someone who might be able to stay in front of Paul, Deron, Billups, Arenas and Nash. Dorsey brings something to the team and I would rather have him then Loren Woods or Mike Harris. Greene addressed some shooting and gives us upside, I hate saying that as he could score at Cuse but he never put the team on his shoulders. He does not have to come in and score right away but he might be able to give up a more athletic but poorer shooting Novak. First year or he might surprise us and be a landry type come in and be a force. He rebounded pretty well and is long enough to get steals. We will see but he does have the smooth shot and length like Rashard. If we were targeting Greene then I give the Draft an A+. We got the guy we wanted, we added a big man, we added a pick next year from a team that might not be great and we gave up nothing really. We still need a shooting guard, and we have to figure out Luther Head, Steve, and Gerald Green. Under the CD era I might have beat this draft up a little more as we passed on the guy I wanted. Morey has proven that he sees talent and fit even when I do not see it. Fierguard
I was SO excited when no one in front of us took CDR, I figured we had finally gotten our man. Then we took Batum. After the trades, I give the Rockets a D. Before the trades, it would have been F-. Why the freaking heck didn't we take the athletic, strong, scoring CDR???? This kid from Syracuse looks ok, but CDR will be an all-star.
We'll see how Greene works out. He probably would've benefited from staying in college another year, so he's definitely a project, but he has size and athleticism, something I always love the Rockets getting more of. He just needs to work on shot selection and maybe Battier could take him under his wing defensively. I love the Dorsey pick. The guy is a man-beast. He will be productive for the Rockets and has a good future.
