Marcin Gortat, the Pole Hammer, would be ideal. Al Jefferson is a fanastic go to scorer in the post, however I am concerned that he is not a good-looking guy. In fact, he is rather ugly, which is unfortunate, as the NBA frowns upon bad looking players.

I would trade for Anthony Randolph, the kid is legit... Shane Battier for Anthony Randolph + filler --RB
I'm pretty sure Indiana likes Hibbert at the Center but would like to pair him with a good rebounding PF who has a midrange game. Jefferson and Hibbert wouldn't pair well together because they are both post players. David Lee would be perfect for them. That being said, Indy has been on a PG hunt for a long while and I don't think they would facilitate a trad where they get the 2nd best PG in the deal.
You're right... didn't say who I DID want. I like Gortat and Josh Smith (if we can pry him away). I would love a backup 2 as well... Mike Miller. NO to Brad Miller and NO to Lee or Jefferson.
^this, plus our guys are gonna kill in summer league. maybe wait till the trade deadline n make a splash again
DM refused to offer Gortat the full MLE last year when there was no Yao, what makes the Hammering his Pole now worth DM's his full MLE contract? Jefferson is almost as pretty as Scola
I think people forget that we offered Marcin Gortat the partial MLE last year because Morey didnt think he was worth more than AS A STARTER (since Yao was out last year). Why would he wanna pay someone close to $7mil/year to come off the bench?? Dont get me wrong, I think he would be a great addition, but if Morey wasnt wanting to spend that much on him last year, i doubt he'd wanna spend that much on Gortat this year and the years upcoming.. .
It's against New Jersey!!! Let's see that type of game against the elite.. Lakers, Boston, Orlando, Spurs, Or just Miami, Dallas, Utah, Oklahoma, Chicago The teams with Length, Speed, Depth.. The teams that matter if you want to win a championship..
Wouldn't it be easier, cheaper and more fun to get a Pole Hummer from Rick's? Of course, a Pole Hammer or even a Pole Strummer might feel good too.
If we look at Morey's past as a blueprint to our future, most years he has acquired players that have been stashed overseas for several seasons that could be had for minimal loss (VSpan) and the neighborhood of 3 million per (see Scola & Andersen). We should be looking at what players are ready to make the jump from overseas. We know San Antonio is not going to give us Thiago Splitter after the Scola raping and Minnesota has already come to terms with Nikola Pekovic. Who's available?
Let us refocus our efforts on acquiring top shelf basketball talent, rather than articulating our carnal desires.
I believe that any backup C that is signed by Darryl Morey will be asked to play a great deal of minutes, hence Gortat's contract may very well be a decent value.
My Plan B it would be two trades ariza,jefferies,2012 pick for al jefferson and battier, hill, and either taylor or cash or a pick but only 1 out of the 3 for andre iguodala then sign a guy like brad miller for LLE o and maybe mike miller for the MLE resign scola and lowry find a way to get rid of anderson or keep him pick up some low prices young guys the rox roster i think could be and would be a contender with yao back health plus it make since for all teams brooks/lowry martin/m.miller/foye iggy/chase/harris scola/jefferson/patterson yao/miller/hayes/andy
Okay, you may continue to keep your eyes on the balls. In the interim, I'll just wait to see what Morey does rather than speculate ad nauseum. BTW, Gortat is known as "The Polish Hammer."
This is my preference. I think this could take the Rockets to the next level, depending on what they had to give up.
