    Whats left?

Its been a little more than a week after free agency and the rockets havent ended up with anything....do you think the rockets will end up with an allstar calliber player because it looks like the chance of that happening are slim or do you think the rockets will do minor moves and then make a major move at next year's trade deadline

They need to go after Danny Granger#1 or Al Jefferson#2.

I think DM is working out something, but I honestly think he will focus on role players that could make our bench even stronger. And I also think Bud, JT, Hill and Patterson will be given the time to develop even more ...

IF we go out and sign and/or trade for an "allstar caliber" player, Al Jefferson might be an option IMO. Other players to be considered Barnes, Marquis Daniels, Tony Allen, Ronnie Brewer, Al Harrington, Haslem, Willie Green, Richard Jefferson (?), ....

Nobody wants to take a flyer on Micheal Redd? Chris Douglas Roberts only played one year. Might be a good pickup to see if he develops a little more.

Granger is a true small forward at 6'8 225, and has the complete skill set. He and Martin together would be explosive.

Michael Redd is T-Mac in shooter form.

I heard the Pacers would want a point guard like AB...

CDR played 2 seasons, came out same year as Dorsey/Rose, plus he got traded to the Bucks, is not a FA unless he got bought out...

I love shooters, but Redd has a fat contract

some people say Jefferson, others say Granger. To compete with the Lakers, I believe we need both. I wouldn't give up Ab for jefferson, but I would for Granger. Getting to the line is the only thing stopping AB from being an all star.

IMO.We don't need an allstar centre as Bosh.BMiller or Jefferson is enough.Whoever would be able to substitute Yao when he fall down again. The reality is, we need an powerful and strong SG or SF to lead the game. In other words,we need a guy who will take the last shoot.

I agree completly. I would try to aquire both.

    Rockets get:

    Danny Granger

    Indiana gets:

    Jordan Hill
    Aaron Brooks
    Shane Battier

    Rockets get:

    Al Jefferson

    Minny gets:

    Kevin Martin
    Future first

Rockets resign Scola and Brad Miller with some of MLE. Grab a 3-point shooting PG like Chris Quinn for cheap.

    Rotation:

    PF/C - Jefferson

    SF - Granger

    C - Yao

    SG - Ariza

    PG - Lowry

    Bench:

    PG - Quinn

    SG/SF - Budinger

    PF - Scola

    C - Miller

so basically scoring wise, the exact same **** we have now, good one buddy! Give up brooks and martin and we give away a good 40+ points a night, something both granger cannot make up for! Scola and jefferson equal each other out so although sounds nice to add those two, we'd be giving to much fire power for it!

Is there no understanding of the Morey methodology here?

When competing for talent, Morey will either be first (i.e., Bosh) or last -- there is no in-between. He will now wait until all the other teams "over-spend" so that he can sift through the dross for a "bargain." That's moneyball -- guaranteed mediocrity. Morey will always field a solid, winning team -- never a champion but never a bottom dweller.

I think I would still try to do a Tyson Chandler trade, and given that the Rockets are loaded at SF I makes Shane Battier expendable. Especially with the emergence of Budinger and the acquisition of Ariza last year... So I would trade Shane Battier..

    Shane Battier
    Alexander/Harris(non-guarenteed contracts)
    cash

    for

    Tyson Chandler

    .........

Tyson Chandler really provides a strength in our greatest area of weakness; legit size(7'1), length and athleticism...

Change is overrated, WBJ will not win a title next year. No bench or starting five to play with. It's going to take some time for the 3 of them to gel. Yes, they will look good against 80% of the NBA but the big boys, (Laker's, Celtic's, Magic, etc..) will give them fits on defense. Wade and Lebron will go against 2 people on D all night long

Team ball beats superstar ball all day long.

I would take Granger for Lowry and Ariza though.
