Do you even know what Bleacher Report is dumbass. It is a site that both of us could sign up for right now and write articles for. It's like a fan newspaper....please stop calling them 'reports'.

You post three sources, one of which is a ****ing 14 yr olds jaded opinion and you don't understand how your 'sources' don't hold much water.

Regardless, like I have said 5 times, it isn't a widely accepted FACT he doesn't play defense or is soft. I can find an article somewhere on the internet that probably says Kobe Bryant isn't that great of an offensive player if I wanted. Or an article that states Dwight Howard doesn't play enough good defense, just looks for blocks. The point is you aren't going to ever have a consensus of people saying Al Jefferson is a liability on defense because it isn't the case. Period.

The GD Bleacher Report as a source.....Christ.

i believe we can get Granger because there was talk of Indiana being willing to trade him before the draft and then they turn around and draft Paul George who he probably can't play with. However, I'm sure we would have to give up Brooks in any trade for him. The Pacers have no pg and would likely demand him in any deal for Granger. Something like

    Rockets Get:
    Granger
    TJ Ford

    Pacers Get:
    Brooks
    Jeffries
    Ariza
    Anderson

    OR

    Rockets Get:
    Granger
    Murphy

    Pacers:
    Brooks
    Ariza
    Jeffries
    Anderson
Harris (not sure if he is still on our books or not)

Patience!!! After the Las Vegas Games many of you should be educated about Hill and our other youngsters. I expect you will be less likely to trade them. :p

If they don't pan out i wont mind Jefferson and Beasley to fill it up at the forward spot.

    Yao
    Jefferson
    Beasley
    Martin
    Brooks

Basically making scoring inside and outside alot easier.

we should go for JJ REDICK!!!

he would fit perfect with yao...jj plays hard and can shoot lights out. all he has to do is spot up and wait for yao to get doubled. spark plug off the bench.

Granger (especially if Paul George pans out quickly)
Paul (Hopefully the Hornets have to trade him to save money)

    That's pretty much it.

    C. Paul
    M. Beasley
    B. Miller
    Jefferson(if Rubio comes with him)
    Possibly R. Fernandez
Adam Morrison(If Battier gets traded and Yes I think Morrison could do well in the right scenario)

Obviously not all of these, but just some to think about.

I still believe that our primary back-court defense is sorely lacking and will hinder us from going farther than the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Thus, I would love to acquire Darren Collison who is multi-dimensional PG and could help shore up our defensive liabilities.

I wouldn't call Ford & Granger or Granger & Murphy for Brooks & Ariza (we don't really need anyone else I listed in the trade) disgusting. You obviously don't appreciate how good Granger is. He was a top 5 scorer in the NBA in 09 and top 10 last year. On top of that he did it in a pretty efficient way by shooting 44% from the field and 38% from behind the arc and 86% from the ft line. He's also pretty good at getting to the free throw line which is always a bonus with Yao and Granger is an above average defender and a pretty good rebounder. With Yao back you want to surround him with as many good shooters as possible. Yao with Martin and Granger on the court would be a real pick your poison situation.

Plus, if you are looking for getting some pg help bc we lose Brooks you can take the Ford deal or if you want the Rockets to get bigger you can take Murphy who is a 6'11 PF that is a very good rebounder and can also stretch the floor with his shooting. Best part is that both Murphy and Ford are expirings so if either doesn't work out they are gone the next year. I know a lot of people on these boards are in love with Brooks but if we could find a way to put two of the most efficient scorers in the league around Yao how can you pass it up?

I think this is the best plan to make the team a true contender. Jefferson would be a perfect addition, if the team didn't have to cut into its core to get him.

    What's with all the rush?

Seriously what's all the rush with us trying to get what is called a "TOP FREE AGENT"? I mean let's look at the current roster we have probably the highest scoring back court in AB and Kevin Martin, we have a great perimeter defender in Ariza, one of the best power forwards in the league in Scola and probably the best center in the legue when healthy in Yao. The current team is easily a 60 win team IF we can keep Yao healthy. So I ask again what's the rush? The focus right now is to get a backup center that can score in limited minutes so we don't have to play Yao more that 25 to 30 minutes per game. We can get that in Brad Miller, sure he is getting old and past his prime but look at it this way he knows Adleman's system, he can score in multiple ways via it be jump shooting or low post and he can rebound. The focus right now shouldn't be getting an All-Star or someone that is considered top the focus should be keep Yao healthy get a backup center and let's keep improving our young guys.

    We aren't a 60 win team.

We have no 4th quarter go to guy (I don't believe Bosh would've been this either but that's besides the point).

We don't have nearly enough length unless Hill starts to become very productive this year.

We are a very solid team, but this team is really just a bunch of role players mixed in w/ a very good (but NOT superstar imo) center. Now I'd change my stance on Yao if he got calls that Gasol got, then he would def be a superstar because of how unstoppable he would be w/ all the FTs he would get. But the way the NBA doesn't give him foul calls it's hard to claim him as a superstar.

No one is rushing, except for fans....morey just put a bid in to upgrad the PF spot...he wasnt overbidding or pushing it...the same way he wont overbid or push any other trade scenario. He kows we have a good team as is, but anytime you can upgrade like that and take advantage of the situation/team, then you have to at least try. Plus, we only went after one guy really. Stop overreacting.

You have a valid point that we already have a good team, but I think 60 wins is a little bit of a reach at this point. Not saying it can't happen, just saying it's a stretch. And the reason everybody is panicing and saying we need to get a "top free agent" is because almost everyone here had their hopes up for getting Bosh. People had been mentioning his name in SnT trade talks to the Rockets dating back to last year, and that really got our fans ecstatic. Now that it didn't happen, people are thinking we gotta get a great player or else this team won't contend for the title, when truth is we probably can. However, we could use some more depth at the 5.

Take off the rose colored glasses man. We're not bad, but we're not a 60 win team either. We're a 50-55 win team but not considered a championship contender. We've assembled a nice group of complementary players but need a legit second all star caliber player to pair with a healthy Yao to push us to the next level. Kevin Martin is good but he's not that guy. Scola is a top 10 PF but not elite. Same for Brooks.

The Lakers needed to acquire Pau Gasol to get back to being a championship contender. Before he got there, the Lakers had missed the playoffs and lost in the first round twice in 3 years. After he got there, they've been to the finals 3 times, winning 2 championships.

We've got a nice core group, but if we want to get to the next level, we need to find our Pau Gasol. We need a legit all star to play 2nd fiddle to Yao or be our #1 and force Yao into a secondary star role.
