This is a new thread designed to keep speculation and news contained within one thread on who the Rockets will use their last spot on. Joshua Smith and Kazemi were both cut today (as most of you already know). This indicates that Morey is after a seasoned vet. I think it's safe to assume we are looking at big men who can add additional depth to either the center position and/or some minutes at the four. I've added a poll of what I think the most realistic opinions are. With the season opener not far away you would think an announcement will be fairly soon.

Who do you want the rockets to sign?

Chuck Hayes and it really isn't close. It is a need in the locker room and on the defensive end...

There is one thing I have learned about Daryl Morey... no deal is better than a bad deal.

Meaning, he won't sign somebody just to sign them. They need to be who he wants. If there isn't a player that he likes right now, he might not do anything at all.

Chuck Hayes sucks, It's not the same Chuck Hayes. Go for some potential in Perry Jones. Heck, Carlos Boozer is more serviceable than Chuck Hayes.

We need another PF who can contribute, that's our only weakness if DMo won't come back early or would get hurt during the season again.

I would be willing to offer Sanders a contract and see if he can keep his head on straight. The guy is a terrific defender and rebounder. If D12 leaves next summer, a tandem Sanders and Capela could still be exceptional.

What is wrong with people wanting Chuck hayes? Getting cut from Clippers training camp isn't another indication he has nothing left in that limited tank of his? He already look like corpse in Toronto years ago.
We might as well sign Ming Yao, because he was amazing when he played for Rockets.

I am also confused about that.

Hayes can't help this team with his old legs.

    Samuel Dalembert.

At least his free throw is much better.

I disagree. With Dwight D-Mo being hurt, we only have 3 healthy big men and desperately need another big. Remember Smith's contract was fully non-guaranteed until January and Morey can cut him in midseason if he wants to sign someone else. Morey must be targeting someone who just got waived that's why he didn't keep Smith.

I hate Boozer, but Boozer. He's plug and play.

Last year he played for a bad team and put up 12 and 7 in 24 minutes a game. He produces, he's only 34. Get him if he's cheap.
